  • And yet daily I have to be on board public transport with selfish tossers not bothering to wear any face coverings as the bare minimum. It's all fine to rationalise the relative dangers but it's probably done from the safety of your home without the need to commute with a bunch of morons who don't give a toss about anybody else. And unfortunately they are emboldened by all the crap shared on social media and clearly think they're being "independently minded".

because either they won't be seen to get diagnosed or beds will be occupied by covid patients.

What is essential? I was mending a wicker laundry basket and ran out of glue. It is essential if a am to finish repairing it.😕
I noticed that chaps up north were partying in the streets like there was no tomorrow prior to their lockdowns - how appropriate!

My understanding is that the new lockdown will mean that you will not be able to meet others, even outside, as was with the first lockdown. You must only leave your home for work, education, healthcare, essential shopping, outdoor exercise or emergencies. I think I heard that you can meet one person outdoors but I need to clarify this.
I don’t think they have specified about MOTs yet - I understand that even in the current highest levels of firebreaks/tier 3 lockdowns, car maintenance is classed as essential. In the Spring lockdown, MOTs were given grace, so if they aren’t again then I would conclude they are allowed.

I get the impression that, for some, panic mode beats the boredom of the vale of tiers.

Noting what you said about online supermarket ordering @pansyface, I have just checked on my regular Thursday delivery slots with Tesco (November 5, 12, 19 and 26). All were working completely as normal with no delays and virtually no goods out of stock.
