@LG Another excellent article. Thank you. At least we know why we are wearing masks and what distances to (try and) keep. I think a mask and a visor are probably on the menu at the supermarket. I have remarked that doctor's or dentist's are keeping appointments on time to reduce the number of patients waiting. Still, winter is just around the corner and ventilation will be more difficult. I will be interested in articles about touch. How long the virus stays on paper, plastic and tin. There seem to be many variations on the subject. And yes, just keep washing our hands. Again, thanks for sharing this interesting article. Tui
I agree with @floralies , that article linked to by @LG_ is informative (and, I think, extremely well illustrated & animated).
A fairly recent anti-COVID-19 measure that has appeared in the news is "ventilation" of buildings. I'm rather surprised that "mechanical ventilation" devices are rarely mentioned (they are, in the aforementioned article). I was under the impression that such devices are the norm in new buildings/houses. I have it in my old but completely renovated (20 years ago) house. So I think I do not really need to open my windows wide every hour, the air is naturally (or, rather, mechanically) renewed continuously.
I've just checked on the internet and it seems that in France a "mechanical ventilation" system is recommended but not compulsory in new buildings.
Sorry but that makes me sad and angry... I don’t think it’s funny at all ... there are idiots out there that are suckered in to that sort of garbage ... one of the first signs of human intelligence is the ability to form societal structures and act for the well-being of others and the greater good rather than selfishly.

Side of Covid arguments? What sort of talk is this? The belief that there is a second side shows breathtaking self delusion and more benefit can be had from sweeping treacle than trying to rationalise with those gripped by corrupted thinking.
But I'm not in a happy mood at the moment. I'm in France, OH is in England, his flight was cancelled and France is in lockdown again. My phone is on the blink and the printer Wifi won't connect to my Laptop, I don't have a wire to connect with, and my Laptop won't connect it's microphone to Zoom. I need to print a certificate if I need to go out to the supermarket or pharmacy, but the printer won't print. Mobile phone hardly has a signal here. This house is very isolated in the middle of a forest.
I'm supposed to be moving house early in January, my daughters who live in France were supposed to be collecting furniture this weekend, can't now, lockdown. I've caught a cold from babysitting grandsons, can't sleep for worrying.
But at least I'm not in a high rise block with a violent husband and I won't lose my job because I'm retired.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I feel very depressed.been wearing masks from before we went into lockdown.hardly been anywhere, seen anyone.washing my hands constantly. Social distancing, god I'm sick of it.trying hard to be positive but why isnt everybody doing the most obvious things? I wake up every day and worry.im just sick of it.and I cant be the only one.
I’m for ever the optimist, I just remind myself how it must have been for my grandparents during the Spanish flu epidemic, 4 years of watching people die, no help or treatment then and lost millions of lives around the world.
Things will get better we’ve only been in this situations for months, not years, they are trying to save lives, they could have let us all go our own ways and lost millions, as it is, it’s not too bad.
