What I heard was "we're pretending to loosen things up but really everything is just exactly the same as before".
    ...
Everything is exactly the same so this announcement was pointless. I guess it was supposed to give us some kind of hope for the future but most intelligent people can see through that lie.
I can't say I disagree but I would be happy with the English rules. All I really want is to be allowed to go out for a longer walk... like a couple of hours away from people. I am sick of doing short walks around the village. Sick of seeing neighbours every day 10 times (how many topics for small talks are there?). I am too introverted for this. I have more contact with people than before the lockdown. And it is stressful contact (what will they think if I don't clap for NHS? what will they think if I avoid them because I am not interested in another meaningless small talk about how nice the weather is?).
The "modest changes to the lockdown in Wales" are a complete joke. So we can exercise more than once a day. What does that even mean? That I can do 10 rounds around the village? But I still can't drive anywhere and I guess I shouldn't go out for too long.

Are you saying your Welsh rules are different?
Yes. Scotland and NI also have different rules.

I have, unusually for me, been very supportive of the government, up until now, but having 4 countries with different rules, is totally unmanageable.
How can you lie there and think of England

I agree @punkdoc .....I was really disappointed with what Boris had to say last night. For someone that had actually been in hospital with Covid 19, he amazed me how vague he was.

We kept reading about how Germany had perfected everything, then you see riots, revolts, like America.  I frankly would  not want to be PM, fine line between keeping folk safe, and the economy.  I wonder how Theresa would have done things.  Trouble is even the top scientists etc all have different ideas

I heard a reporter on the Isle of Wight app, saying that when he got there he would "log on" to it, dont know if thats the correct terminology, I dont have a smart phone.  The thinking at the moment is when my grandaughter gets her Birthday in November, and gets an upgrade, I get the "old" one, but I have absolutely no idea how to use one, anymore than I can "use" our smart TV

Being mathematically inclined, I like to see precision and attention to detail, which are essential skills in Mathematics. Unfortunately our politicians are severely lacking in these skills. For an example, look at the Brexit referendum question - if it had been more detailed and thought through then we would have saved years of political upheaval. We were not told what would happen if we voted No, or what the terms would be, or who would decide if the negotiated terms were acceptable, or what would happen if they were rejected. If these things had been worked out and we had been told then we could have saved a lot of trouble.

Flydragon, yes, I got carried away with the 0s, but it says on wikki, and the other sites there are 200 common cold viruses.must admit I have never had sneezing with a cold, sore throat a couple of days, then blocked up nose.

Last night Boris said folk who couldn’t work at home should ‘go to work tomorrow’ ie this morning. Now Dominic Raab is saying ‘from Wednesday’ ... 🤯
