Very best wishes to you, @hogweed.

Isn't post viral fatigue a known thing? It would be surprising if the docs had thought that covid would be exempt from that aspect.

@hogweed have you asked if you can have respiratory physio? My son is to have it as his breathing is still bad after being on a ventilator.

@hogweed on radio 2 today the doctor recommended people who have had Covid 19 should access the support here
    https://www.yourcovidrecovery.nhs.uk/

She also said that your GP can refer you for face to face support ... although it’s not yet available in all areas.

I had Glandular fever (Epstein-Barr virus) when I was in my early 20's.It took 3 months before I was well enough to return to work but never had the same stamina afterwards and 40 years on I still don't!

Me too @madpenguin tho it took nearly 6 months off work and almost that long to get a diagnosis and when I did go back to the office I slept for an hour every lunchtime for almost a year afterwards.    In my 30s I took up horse-riding and skiing and sailing and started weight training to get fit for those and that helped a lot.   Weighed more but took up less space and a side effect was fewer colds.    Don't know how that works.

I've had it again since tho not as badly.   It sometimes shows up in blood tests for MOTs - sugar levels, cholesterol etc - but these days I'm more wiped out by arthritic bits.

There is an end in sight for many who will be suffering after effects but it can be a long hard road and, in my experience, GPS and their consultant colleagues can be very dismissive of post viral complications so it's good that the NHS has recognised it's a problem with Covid-19.

All the very best for your recovery Hogweed.  In my 40s, fit, healthy, never smoked had seasonal flu, then pheumonia, knocked me out for 3 months.    I would walk about 7 minutes to collect my youngest from school, same home, then collapse on the sofa.
