I really do feel for them all, they are working so hard for so little reward, it's appalling. I don't know where to begin to thank them for pulling my son through. He is now starting to communicate, he has a voice box and physios are sitting him out in a chair for short periods. Those that are flouting lockdown should be ashamed of themselves.
I've avoided this thread for a while, but I mistakenly looked at the last few pages the other day. I wasn't going to comment, but I agree totally with @punkdoc that this isn't over by any means, and I also agree absolutely with you @floralies re those flouting the guidance. As I said on another thread earlier - I dislike wee Jimmy Krankie [as we all call her here] but she's right.
I do hope your son continues to do well - and makes a complete recovery soon.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Informing people is never pompous Punkdoc and I have been expecting someone to point out that this is a lurking virus but so far I fear the politicians are treading a fine PR line. Understandably they don't want to shout 'Fire! in a crowded cinema .
The scenes of people being stupid over the weekend (and I fear it is just a genetic weakness PF and not the virus or an alien invasion. but it is always positive to hypothesise) have provoked both my daughters into making me promise to stay at home for however long it takes.
I fear that Christmas will be with us first.

Again as some of you know I have done some work in war zones and at the moment I think I would be more scared of being on my old ICU in Sheffield than I was in Syria or Iraq.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
That might just be one of those unanswerable philosophical/medical questions PF like the existential tree (the alien reference came from another source and I don't think you're barmy at all!).
I listen to the radio a lot as it leaves my hands free for other things (currently a purple, orange and green snake) but I don't put it on at the moment as it is a bit relentless, that just gives my brain more chance for flights of fancy though not as deep as yours.

I try to stay calm, but I'm getting concerned (step down from worried) about how people will interpret what Johnson says later today. This alert thing is too open to interpretation as in - I'll do whatever I like but watch out for anyone who looks a bit ill and hold my breath as I walk past them.
B3. I thought it was just me. Passing people on pavements,I have been holding my breath. It started the week before lockdown. It might be me, but cars seem to be social distancing too. On trips up the M1 to mums, traffic seems to be well spaced. At traffic lights, the car behind doesn't try to climb into the boot. I'm not sure that I want to shake hands with anyone ever again.
The one thing that still reassures me slightly, is that there are still a lot of people showing common sense, being concerned, but not terrified. Hopefully there are more of us than the fools.
