Morning Chey and Chive. Just read my meters to send them off to my new supplier and I should be completely switched by March 6th. My Doc's always looks nice and clean Chey and yesterday, I think that the lack of the usual 'waiting room full on a Monday', made it more apparent. Chive you have got a wee devil of conscience sitting on my shoulder as not only do I have the cooker to clean - as T'Bird did - my freezer could do with defrosting too and now might be a good time to do it as I've eaten virtually all its contents.
Speaking of T'Bird - I'm thinking about you and your FIL. Chin up Chuck.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Chive, I remember when Aids and HIV hit the headlines way back, we used to get the children to wash their hands then, before they went to lunch. It was easier for me and my department as we all had sinks in our labs but it was problematic for the teachers in ordinary classrooms.

TBird we are thinking about you and your OH and his family .LB we have mobile oven cleaning businesses in Leeds . I am very tempted . I can’t stay on the floor too long ,my knees lock .My freezers need cleaning, but they are full and being auto-defrost there is no urgency. But I must clean them .
There was a programme on a couple of weeks ago where anti bacterial hand gels were studied. Two people were asked to clean their hands, one using the hand gel and one using soap and water. These two people were then asked to place the palms of their hands onto the surface of sterile agar jelly in large petri dishes. These were then allowed to incubate. After a certain time the colonies of bacteria that had grown on the agar were compared and the petri dishes with the samples from the soap and water washed hands had less bacterial colonies than the petri dishes with the hand gel samples. The scientist who carried out this experiment said the soap and water hand cleansing was far more effective than the alternative. It was also pointed out that we are covered in bacteria, some of which are beneficial and needed by us and antibacterial hand gel will kill these off as well as harmful bacteria. What's more, the antibacterial gel must contain alcohol if it is to have any benefit against viruses.

LB interesting soap v hand gel with surprising results. Hazel you and oh have had a busy day, put your feet up tonight and rest. LB enjoy the quiz with your friend from Crewe. Topbird hoping you are okay, stressful times, sending my best wishes.
Hello all, just relaxing after a day dealing with fiancés family so got a big glass of wine. Still no death certificate so everything on hold, apparently there may be an inquest. Seems ridiculous as he was a very sick man and had been for many years but I suppose they know best.
I will be getting a new oven so no need to clean it but I like that stuff that you put on trays and then into a plastic bag. Good old elbow grease is the thing but nobody sells it!
I use soap and water whenever possible I don’t like those hand gels I think they dry the skin too much
