@steveTu the idea of deflating trousers catapulting the wearer into the stratosphere is far too amusing a thought. Going shopping in them might also prove a problem as the wearer might be constantly apprehended by store security thinking he has been shoplifting.

I suppose those trousers are no more ridiculous than Victorian crinolines, bustles and (even more so) those hideously wide dresses which were the height of fashion in the 18th century.

Wouldn't want to fall in the river wearing them though - they'd tip you upside down in a flash😁

Afternoon all. Lots of boring little jobs tackled again today. OH is at work today and was going to drive up to Yorkshire after work tomorrow. Looking at tomorrow's forecast for heavy snow in the morning I suspect he won't be flying and (with a bit of luck) will be able to drive up during the day. His mum can (and does) drive but the traffic is incredibly busy around York so she much prefers it if somebody can take her to the hospital. Would be nice if OH could take her tomorrow.

Evening all. T'Bird, perhaps the heavy snow won't materialise but it would be good for your OH to be around to take his Mum to visit your FIL in hospital. I've checked forecast for my area tomorrow as I'm going to Bestie's and her daughter is going to refresh the purple, and it threatens wintry showers until 10:00 tomorrow morning. The problem may be ice and as I have to negotiate a very steep hill (which has been closed in past years when there is severe ice) I will not be best pleased.

Good morning all. Its so nice to see the lighter mornings gradually arriving earlier and earlier. Lots of sleet here - I thought it was frost when I first looked out of the window. Have good days all of you. I hope that Ante is feeling better, that T'Bird's OH gets up to Yorkshire safely. T'Bird, I think that doing lots of little jobs can be more exhausting than just one big job.

Hello good afternoon.  I’m glad your getting your car sorted Hazel.  Hope all is okay with your appointment with your doctor.  Chive when we had snow overnight it had laid but had cleared up fairly quickly too.  It’s been sunny today on an off and I’ve been pottering.   My sister kindly bought me a magnifying mirror to help me when I use makeup which will be very useful when I’m not wanting to wear eye wear.
