    Good evening to all.
Chive, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's friend. She will certainly need your company.

T'bird, take care tomorrow on the road and arrive safely.

LB, those Narcissi are beautiful. Such cheerful sight when the weather is bad.

I'm feeling excellent today. This afternoon I potted dahlias, lilies, liatris and sparaxis. Weather was tolerable. My sister is staying one more day and she will travel back at Monday. Time passed so quickly and the worse thing will be go back to my routine. Afterall, we had a very pleasant ten days.

Evening Ante. I am so pleased that you had such a lovely catch up time with your sister. I think you will miss her company when she goes home on Monday. I hope that she managed to get some wedding organisation done too. Well done for getting all your purchases planted. Some pretty flowers to look forward to later on this year.
Night night Rosie. Has the cat groomer been yet?

  • Your Arctic Bells are delicious Ladybird 4. I have some ordinary yellow bulbicodium in flower in a pot. They are a bit small to risk growing in the garden.

I also  have another problem. When I have something important that needs to be kept, I put it away safely, in an obvious safe place.
     Never to be seen again.
At least not until I am looking for something else. Then I wonder what on earth was I thinking to put that there. Well, at the time it seemed a good idea and it wasn't lost!

Does everyone have "a kitchen drawer" where bits and pieces and assorted thingys are
cached? I have kitchen tools, iie a cherry stoner, pickle fork, larding needle, toffee hammer and canned drink piercer thing etc.that almost never see daylight but how useful it is to have them on the rare occasions when needed.

  • Thanks for the welcomes.

Yes, I am very rural but only 6 miles from a town. I have an end cottage in a row of 3, surrounded by fields. Very quiet, neighbours not around much so I talk to the birds, a robin in particular which always comes to watch me in the hope I will start moving soil for it to hunt in. There is lots of wild life around here, deer, badgers, foxes, saw a mink
last summer and lots of birds.
I am trying very slowly to develop a garden but have to fight field grass and brambles constantly as the fields are not grazed or cultivated. I moved here 15 years ago but have had 6 surgical operations since arriving which has really cut down my activities. Hopefully I will be able to get more done this summer.
