Good for your mum @josusa47 - I've got some new plants to find a home for as well and it's sunny outside.

Did a raid this morning.  DIY stores are open - large surface so less proximity - and I now have the paint I need for the other walls in Possum's room plus the wood I need for a headboard and some skirting board too.

Got home to find confirmation that mosaic group and dance class are also cancelled for the duration which has an upside - time to get the painting done and we can eat as much garlic as we like when we like and no worries about being anti-social.

The bad news is Welsh classes are cancelled until further notice.  The good news is that means I'll be able to go to the independent greengrocer which is only open in the mornings.  Their produce is so much better than the SM.

Good news today is that the efficient painter came as promised, and transformed our extension with white ceilings and undercoated woodwork, and French White (aka very pale cream) walls.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Ceiling done.  It's pine tongue and groove - a Vendée thing apparently - and is a pig to paint cos it has to be brushed, not rollered on

We had pine tongue and groove ceilings in our last house @obelixx, left over from the 70's!  As you say, they are a b.....r to paint, I only did the utility room downstairs, which had a low ceiling in a semi-basement. Painted white it looked completely different.
The very large sitting room was a step too far though, I didn't have the energy and my shoulder didn't like it. Shame about your cancelled classes though. I'm thinking of doing some online courses in genealogy which should be interesting.

Not especially something from la Vendée, but certainly something dating back to the 1960s or 1970s. Absolutely horrible.
