@jamessayersbrown that's a great change.  I think you need to put good, big pots on your Xmas and birthday lists.

Well done @Obelixx, it's not easy to lose weight as I know all too well. I've kept most of mine off so far but unfortunately the scales are now creeping up again and not down. I blame it on the vino!

They are already on there funnily enough!  I've said to just pop a bow on them instead of grappling with wrapping paper

Wine certainly makes a difference @Lizzie but so does not going out for 5 months.   No restaurant lunches, coffee with a chocolate or biscuit, ice cream at the sea front...........and no patchwork sessions mean no weekly cake experiments and leftovers.    We've been doing the 5:2 diet which works for me better than just counting calories.   No booze at all on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday and I have no apéro at the weekend anymore.

That's probably the answer Obelixx, I was doing fine until lockdown eased and we started eating out again. Oh well, better cut down again, we're hoping to have a holiday in September!

@jamessayersbrown - good.  Lots of fun to come then and don't be snooty about the material.  plastic pots in bright or subtle colours or fake terracotta work very well, are easy to move cos they're light and last for decades if well looked after.

@Lizzie27 - our wedding anniversary a week on Saturday so we've booked a table in a local Michelin* restaurant but, otherwise, it's home cooked meals, largely with home-grown veg and very few carbs.

Now you have to see these two adverts together to get it. The anusol advert with lots of suggestive things, ending with a balloon tied up in a knot, followed by the Buxton Spring advert when the first thing announced is "Rock Bottom"
