I'm ridiculously excited that my Clematis tangutica seeds, liberated from the road side of a garden wall in Halifax last autumn, are producing little roots on their damp kitchen paper, inside a plastic bag...   :)

"liberated" aka "pinched"? ;) Well-done, @Liriodendron . Hope those little roots develop into full-grown specimens.

Delighted because our supermarket delivery has just arrived and, with another lined up for the end of next week, it will be close to a month without leaving the house.

I think these drivers are doing a fabulous job and we usually give them a fiver. Do others? Is that commonplace? I have no idea.

I reckon I get so few tips in a year I could count them on one hand
    Devon.

What a stingy lot in Devon! We have promised our binmen who continue with their usual rota a £50 tip when the crisis is over and they can celebrate with a drink.

I don't think all my tips for the last 6 years would add up to £50
    Devon.

In the course of some intensive weeding this afternoon, I discovered four self-sown seedlings: holly, field maple, hebe and Fatsia japonica.  All dug out and potted  to be nurtured for planting elsewhere. I love getting plants for free!  I have a lovely 10ft rowan which arrived as an uninvited seedling about four years ago, and in exactly the right place.

Yes, @Papi Jo, pinched... though they weren't actually in a garden but hanging over the garden wall, next to the public footpath.  Fair game, I think, though I would have asked permission if the garden owners had been visible.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I don't get food delivered but if I did  , I would think a fiver is fair
    In London. Keen but lazy.

My bare root asparagus crowns arrived today at last, so planted, watered and mulched.

@josusa47 I have two little rowans which were already 'seed presents' in this garden when I moved in here. One is behind the shed and is around 8 feet now.
I think they were being routinely hacked by a gardener, along with a few other random things at the far end of the plot, as the woman who lived here clearly didn't do any herself  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
