SM raid has been done bu first we went to collect OH's strimmer after its service. Nice chap who only charged 80⬠for a full service and then gave OH a good tip. tlon strimmer cable/wire should be soaked for 24 hours before using and then it perform better. Apparently it's a tip learned by anglers.
The journey there was another entertainment.Ā No catamarans this week but we did have a yellow van followed by a huge lorry carrying what looked like a cross between a polytunnel and a Nissen hut.Ā Ā Fine.Ā Until we came across another one coming the other way and carrying two chalets for holiday parks.Ā Ā Loads of fun.
Still sunny so a quick coat of varnish on work tops and then a bit of play outside.
@Busy-Lizzie - I had 90% germination with my broad beans and they've all survived.Ā Some are in flower already.
Most of my broad beans germinated @Obelix and the ones that survived are in flower. They were fine until January then they seemed to rot, must have been all the rain.
Went to see another horse livery place, was much nearer but a bit more expensive. Each field had a field shelter with hay in it and the man visits twice a day and feeds them horse nuts. He has 16 at livery and 3 of his own.

I've been staying with our daughter near Galway, on Granny duty, while hubby supervised the cat and the workmen.Ā I had a lot of fun, not so sure about hubby...Ā Nice day yesterday so the external insulating team got the render undercoat on - useful because today is vile again, wall-to-wall rain and wind.Ā We have the air-to-water heat pump in position and connected up, and expect to have central heating next week... yay!!Ā Glad yours is done, @Allotment Boy, even if there's a fair amount of renovation to follow.
Sorry you've been poorly, @Yviestevie .Ā Hope you get your mojo back quickly... Ā
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
The new central heating sounds good @Liriodendron. My sister's also on Granny duty looking after her 3 yr old grandson whilst his mum had her twins. Haven't heard yet when they're all going home. Feeling quite tired now as just back from long walk with daughter. Enjoyed seeing a lot of gardens with spring bulbs in bloom including a beautiful clump of Algerian Iris in flower. Quite envious as I only had one bloom on mine!
You do seem to have adventures on your journeys @Obelixx.Ā
Hi folks,Ā Have been to Merry Hell today to get some photos printed off and buy some frames.Ā Haven't sown any more seeds, will hopefully get them done tomorrow.Ā Might be able to get outside and do a bit as the forecast isn't too bad.Ā
If there's any cake left Dove I could do with a slice and a cuppa.Ā
Don't envy you all the renovations Liri but I'm sure it will be lovely when it's all finished.
We've just had two lovely sunny springlike days. I've been gardening without a coat. OH said it's cold in Norfolk so France does have it's compensations!
This afternoon I managed to dig a deep enough hole in a shrub bed to plant Rosa Complicata, the first foot was OK then I had to use a pickaxe, got out lots of rock. Then it was a tough job getting her out of the 60cm container.Ā I bought her in 2014 when we went to David Austin's rose garden.Ā The container broke up which made it easier, it had gone brittle - a fibre glass and resin one. Then I couldn't lift the rose, had to use a trolley even though I cut off a few inches of root ball. Wasn't expecting so much root, really needed re-potting. I hope she likes being in the ground instead of a pot. Will have to do the same tomorrow for "The Fairy".

I wish we could share the cake with you @Yviestevie ... even I am not going to get any š. Ā Itās for OHās colleagues tomorrow ... one is leaving and one has been promoted ... OH isnāt even due in work tomorrow but heās told them heāll pop in ... the cake is a surprise. Ā š” Maybe I should help OH deliver it ... perhaps I can wheedle a sliver out of them Ā šĀ

Lovely sunny day. Sowed more broad beans (only about a third of the autumn sowing have survived), peas and planted onion sets.
