Good morning.Ā  Streaky yellow stuff on the horizon at the mo but set to clear completely later and be dry all day.Ā  Ā Good.Ā  It's very soggy out there.

Having first coffee of the day and watching news about the flooding in Wales and middle England.Ā  So devastating.Ā  Ā More rain expected too.Ā  Ā

On a brighter note, the blue whale population seems to be recovering after being hunted almost to extinction.Ā  Ā  Great news.

    Morning all.
Very misty, mild frost, but sun is forecast.
A man, English, is coming to help do a blitz on the French garden today.

That's good @Busy-Lizzie.Ā  Ā Himself is out playing golf today.Ā  He did a lot of hoeing of gravel yesterday making lovely new seeds beds for weedlings.Ā  When I talked about tamping it all down to make it less hospitable he didn't grump.Ā  Just went on line and found a wacker plate to buy.

I shall finish pottering in the annex and get my onion sets planted.Ā

  • I have volunteered to make one of Nigella’s Guinness cakes for OH’s workplace as one colleague is leaving and another being promoted ... I shall have to pop out and get ingredients ... can I get anything for anyone? šŸ˜‰Ā

    Morning all,
No work today. Visiting a new garden client this pm in Felixstowe. My cold still has me sounding awful in the morning and evening but I feel OK so on the mend.
Lovely to see you about Yvie! Sorry you haven't been well, roll on spring to get us all better!

Its been very mild here though. I've had a sweetpea flowering in a hanging basket all winter!
    Anyway, second coffee time!

Lovely Guinness cake, I’ve made those. Ā
Tesco only sell drought now, OH doesn’t like it so I don’t buy it anymore, Ā don’t know if that would do in a cake or not.
Still raining here, at least we don’t flood, Ā if we were underwater Devon and Cornwall would be completely buried in it. ā˜”ļø 🌧

A day of pottering indoors and knitting, Daughter has asked for nursery rhyme characters and fairy tales to bring story time to life. Ā So it’s Goldilocks and the three bears first. .Ā

Possum likes to make chocolate Guinness cake too but I prefer chocolate carrot cake or chocolate fudge cake.

  • Hi all we are hopeful that the heating will be back on by tonight. Might go to GC to get seed spuds, been delaying till work was done as I usually chit them in the utility area & they are working there.
