  • Hi everyone sounds like we all survived the storm. Our friends left Sunday morning had to go south side of M25 as the bridge was shut (they live in West Sussex). They visited elderly mother on the way by the time they got home their area had a power cut. Not too bad here in spite of high winds & Holywood  rain (think singing in the rain). Haven't been to Allotments yet though.

Lots of wind here overnight.  Enough to keep me awake so not a good sleep and then up early for all day patch club.  We've been doing Sashiko embroidery today.  They've all really enjoyed it despite mutterings about it not being as easy as it looks.   Lots of laughter tho.

Mosaic class after that and this year the theme is Lafontaine's Fables which are really Aesop's fables but in French blank verse.  I'm doing "The fox and the crow" and then "The hen that laid the golden egg" - yes I know we have a goose.

Tomorrow is the meeting at the lycée to discuss British recipes for a British menu at their catering school's restaurant.   That'll be fun.

Glad you've had some decent rain at last @Pat E and hope you get loads more.

Hope your infection clears up quickly @Busy-Lizzie.   Sounds nasty.

More wind here again this evening.   Very noisy again.  Stay safe everyone.

  • Ice and a sprinkling of grainy snow out there ❄️

Hope everyone’s snuggled in their beds now ... sweet dreams all ... and special hugs to @Busy-Lizzie and her poorly head 😢

    Night night everyone 😴 🛌

Think it’s the middle of your night, but wanted to share some of the orchids we found in the Singaporean botanic gardens yesterday.......

    Just stunning 😀

Another day here today, exploring the Gardens by the Bay ( mostly biomes I think, but done quite quirkily).  Then we are Sydney bound.  Watch out @Pat E, hear we come 😀😀

Hope your eye feels easier now the antibiotics have had a chance to kick in Lizzie 😟

Great photos  Chicky. I thought you must have been on your way. 😀

We have been driving around the back of our place to check dam levels and are quite pleased with the pools forming so far. Would like more rain, but not complaining.
Our river is flowing again after being reduced to pools. I’ll try to get a photo or two on when I’ve caught my breath. 😉

Have a good time over there.

    Here we go.

This is a little fungus growing under the pines. Very pretty colour.

Blimey!  I was having a little siesta on the lounge when a huge thunder clap overhead woke me.  Hubby couldn’t stop laughing. I think I rose vertically.  I wont repeat what I exclaimed though.
