Pansy I hope all is well now and you slept afterwards. Joyce I hope you find the physio appointment goes well. I did get some sleep eventually but need to get out of the habit. LB I hope you had a good night. Chive congratulations on your son passing his driving test. Well done.
Morning everyone .Chive that is wonderful news . Pansy we had brick come down the chimney in our last house .The entire sitting room was covered in soot .We were sitting reading ,we got the soot as well .A horrible mess .Joyce ,I hope your physio goes well.LB it’s raining here too .
Joyce, I'm glad that someone at least has dry weather. I've been to see to Kitty and she is fine but since I got back the sky has absolutely opened and its teeming down here. I hope that you are not put through too much at the physio appointment Joyce. I call Jack's physio appointments 'The Torture Club'. I'm waiting for a parcel this morning and hoping to visit Jack this afternoon. I've got my flippers, wet suit and snorkel ready.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
On my bus today there is a middle aged man with black teeth laughing hysterically and licking the pole! I would be very glad to see a well behaved horse! He is also singing and asking us all to join in, obviously everyone is just ignoring him and tutting quietly.
I liked the police comment re the horse thinking it could "stirrup" some trouble.
Had my assessment with the physio and she recommended I attend a class to help with balance and strength so hopefully I'll be able to do more in the garden without wobbling.
Just had a chap round to talk about replacement windows and doors. Going to give me a quote. Smelling salts have been ordered. Small local company with a very good reputation but they won't be a budget option. Won't know whether or not it's doable until we get some figures - gulp!
Beep beep - many congratulations to Chivelet. Will be nice not being a taxi service for him anymore.
LB - hope Jack's feeling a bit more comfortable.
Debs - the man on the bus does't sound well at all. Is he a regular?
Rebecca / Rosie - I didn't twig Rosie was you at all! Do you prefer us to call you Rosie from now on?
Joyce - hope the physio helps. Will be interested to hear which exercises they give you to help improve balance if you don't mind sharing.
Hope @Lantana is ok. We haven't heard too much from her recently and I miss hearing about Tiggs' antics.
Also best wishes to @1Runnybeak1 - you'll be busy with family and making arrangements. You are very much in our thoughts.

Afties all. Recently back from a long visit with Jack. He learned today - just before I arrived at hospital that they are moving him back to Salford Royal tonight. His daughter wasn't around so I texted her to let her know. I asked the senior nurse why this was happening and she told me it was at the neurologist's request. She can keep a closer eye on him in Salford as she only visits Wigan Infirmary twice a week. That made sense to me and I have to say that Jack is looking even better than he looked on Wednesday when I visited. He was making me laugh as he went on about all the myriads of 'learner doctors' who were being brought to see him and were then being asked questions as to what they thought it was that he has. Apparently it's quite rare. I think he is quietly enjoying his fame and fuss.
Debs, I think that chap on the bus would have unnerved me as well.
Joyce, like T'Bird, I would like to know about the exercises to help improve balance There are times when I feel a bit 'wobbly' in the garden.

LB - good to hear Jack is feeling better. Will you still go to see him Salford? No idea whether Wigan or Salford is closer to where you live!
You may remember I mentioned that we'd had a rat in the compost bin and my neighbour is having problems with a rat in her garden. Learned today that neighbour on the other side had a rat in their shed and also in their attic. EEK! Clearly a lot of rodent movement going on around us at the moment.
Is it due to the waterlogged fields? the overgrown 'garden' which has been cleared at the end of the lane? or a really, really slack neighbour (who keeps horses and lives in a virtual slum) who has finally cleared a huge heap of horse muck around her stables?
According to the pest man who has been visiting next door she is overrun with rats and he'd used over 20Kg 😱 of poison around her property and still not got on top of the problem. Her house and stables are both filthy and completely unkempt with 'stuff' piled everywhere. Plus she keeps chickens so there are sacks of chicken and horse feed everywhere. Rat heaven.
My money is on her causing the problem. Apparently she's now given up on the pest control so goodness knows what's going to happen in the future.
