Pansy and Chive I’m imagining your endeavours but caravannings fun when you have your own shower and a double bed so you do have some comforts.  It’s a good memory though🤪.  Chive I’m doing the washing too.  I’m on my last load and have been hanging it up.🤪

Good Evening campers! - lovely tales - we've all (well, many of us anyway!) have all been there.

When I was growing up (in the 60's) we had an igloo tent which was tetrahedral shaped with 4 linked blow up tubes at each corner. You could just about stand up in the middle but with 2 adults and 2 children all laid out to sleep there wasn't much room for anything else.

Of course, one of the blow up tubes developed a slow puncture so one of the daily jobs (along with fetching water and emptying the potty) was to blow up the tent. One night there was a full blown storm and the partially deflated tent collapsed on the sleeping family causing hysterical screams from the little girl (moi). Blowing a gale and pouring with rain, there was nothing for it but to decamp to the car where the family spent a sleepless night waiting for dawn.

Apart from that mishap the tent continued to be used for many years until my bestie and I decided to go fo an adventure. Set off for the Dales and the Lakes in her mum's little mini with the trusty igloo in the back. Somewhere around Day 4 we were inflating the tent when it went bang and exploded like a balloon. RIP dear igloo...

Oh T'bird. Another great laugh. I do have a story about camping and apologies if I posted this a year or so ago. The one and only time my brothers went camping they had all the gear, set out in my brother's little teapot Austin A30. The fog rolled in and they were completely lost but they had driven on some nice flat grassy area so they set up camp hoping for the fog would have cleared by morning. When they woke the next day they discovered that they had set up camp on a roundabout and the noise of the traffic and laughter from other drivers made them pack up and return home immediately.

You have all given me a laugh personally I wouldn’t camp for any amount of money . But a nice caravan or motor home would be perfect!

These are such classic camping stories! Could be made into a book.
