Its very quiet on here tonight. Winter Watch - too much flipping chat and not enough creature action. Getting ready for part 2 of Silent Witness now. I do lead an exciting life. The sooner this cold has gone and I can get into the garden the better. I think I'm going stir crazy!. I'll say good night now as there is every possibility I may nod off. See you all tomorrow.

LB - you (anyone!) can moan to me about flappy hands, dumbing down, repeating the same info 4 times in 5 minutes, hyper-hyper presentation, over-loud background / incidental music and all the other things which make it nearly impossible for me to watch what should be so many excellent documentaries. Channels 4 & 5 are by far the worst offenders. Even more annoying they often have some 1st rate ‘minds’ involved who should know better than to sell themselves out to such tabloid presentations.

    .... and breathe...

....that’s a weight of me chest! Am trying to watch what should be an excellent programme about witchcraft trials in 17C England. Completely ruined by all of the above.

Good evening everyone. Hasn’t it been cold today? Haircut today and she got chatting so I’m (extra) feeling the chill around my neck tonight....😁

Good luck with the parcel Pansy - I’ll have a little chocolate bet JL do have it waiting for you - they’re pretty good😁

So- having had my little rant above - I’m now watching a BBC4 programme which is the exact opposite of everything said above. Nicholas Parsons (RIP today) searching for a watch made for Marie Antoinette. NP is (was) an amateur horologist and this programme is interesting, quietly informative and absorbing TV. That (and the ongoing charm of R4) is why I will forever defend the BBC and willingly pay my TV licence fee.

We had snow earlier! And I think it's snowing lightly again.

Got a Strudel in the oven. Yum.

Coo these late on parades are getting worse and worse. Never mind, it gives the brain time to get de-cluttered.
Morning PF and Chive and all the even later than me Rezzerrisers.
Hoorah T'Bird (and anyone else) we will continue the flappy hands moan as and when.
PF - I have tracked your 'proposed' picky uppy places on my GPS and it crashed leaving me the message: 'You have got to be kidding me!' I've been to Sauchiehall Street many times and despite its rather shady reputation it has some really beautiful buildings in it.

T'Bird - D-Day - 2! You must be getting excited now. Might be an idea to pack extra scarves to make up for the hair removal. I've a 'Do Not Venture' here sign on the back of my hair at the moment as Darren (aka - to me - Edward Scissor Hands) my stylist gets carried away and a trim turns into a sheep shear. I've an appointment there next Tuesday morning

Good morning all. Son is eating and sleeping well and I am feeling happier though I do seem more tired than usual, maybe the sleepless nights catching up on me!
Dry here and not too cold. Longing to get into the garden but got such a busy week, how do people manage who work full time?

Morning Debs. You are bound to feel tired as you have been on an emotional roller coaster for a while now. Good to hear your son is bouncing back. Allow yourself a little 'me' time - have a little walk down the garden and look for all the tiny new life stirring.

Morning 🥱 - bit of a tossy-turny night with brain in overdrive, so I’m feeling a little bleurrgh.

... and my nose is sore. Went to see the consultant dermatologist on Monday to get some lumps and bumps checked out. All fine except for one od by dose - which he zapped with liquid nitrogen. Don’t get me wrong - I am eternally grateful to the NHS for nipping a potential ‘nasty’ in the bud - but I now have a bright red nose with a big yellow blister on the end of it. Looks like a ginormous zit. Lovely😬 I can just see it out of the corner of one eye so I keep walking around squinting down my nose. It’s the most charming of looks 😁

Gotta love the NHS. GP’s appt to yellow blister in less than 3 weeks - excellent service. We’re very lucky here. They’ve taken good care of Deb’s son too - so pleased to hear he’s home. Look after both him and yourself Debs.

How did I manage to do all my jobs when I was working full-time? Hmm - in my case, getting up 2 hours earlier probably helped🤭

Meant to say yesterday - I loved that pic of Pumpkin the Tesco cat. I think he might have been on the local news too. Looks like a slightly scruffy version of my Harry. He sounds like a friendly little thing who just wants a warm place to sit and watch the world go by.

LB - yes 2 and a bit days to go. Stuff all over the place but (with the aid of many lists) I think some order may be restored today. There will be tidy piles instead of messy ones - ready to be packed tomorrow. Think we might turn the heating up tomorrow so the m/home feels a bit aired. It’s normally just set to a frost setting so it’s pretty chilly in there at the moment.

LB - we can rant about TV progs as much as you like. It’s good to clear the air. Can thoroughly recommend that programme about Marie Antoinette’s watch to anybody interested in history, antiques, horology, precision engineering or just curious about a tiny object which took 45 years to make and is now valued at tens of millions of pounds. It’s exquisite - but it’s no wonder the toffs got their heads cut off when they were getting stuff like that made at a time of starvation and revolution.

Must get on with some jobs now. SYL.

    Good luck with JL Pansy!
