I woke up with an awful migraine, took a pill and went back to bed till lunchtime, now it's raining cats and dogs and very windy.

I like the smell of all but the white, which smells like P.

I can't cope with hyacinth scent even outside.  I'll start sneezing before I even see it.  Other strong scents such as jasmine don't affect me at all.

My grump is that Ratty found a way to remove the fat cake feeder from the pole last night.  It has (or rather, had) a strong wire "handle" which hooked over the arm of the pole.  This morning the feeder was on the grass some way from the pole, but Ratty had only managed to eat a little of the cake this time - he couldn't get the base off the feeder because I'd wired it on.  I've made a new fastener for the cage, because the old one has disappeared, and removed the food completely as it got dark this evening.  It'll stay in the utility overnight, and I'll put it out again in the morning...

I bought Paperwhites for my mum, my daughter and myself, we all had to put them outside as we thought they smelled like dog poo, couldn’t have them in the house.

Some lilies smell like plasters or germoline to me.

I’m not allowed Hyacinths in the house as OH says they have a vile scent. My sister had a gorgeous bouquet of paperwhites once and they had to be relegated to the downstairs loo! They did have a ‘unique’ whiff, yet quite beautiful to look at.

I have a Rhododendron fragrantissimum, a bit delicate, it lives in a pot against a house wall for protection. It should be in a conservatory in winter really. The perfume from it is like those cherry lips sweets we used to get as kids.

When I saw "Paperwhite" my immediate thought was the Kindle Paperwhite and mine doesn't smell of poo.  Some of the free books I've downloaded have been crap but that's a different thing altogether. :D
