We always clothed our upper bodies. But maybe it was colder where we lived. We wouldn't have been comfortable in the big freeze of '62

Did he pay for 4 spaces? Conversely two times now when I've  parked at the local nature reserve I've picked a spot in the corner of the carpark where there's plenty of room on both sides to get both kids and the pram out only to find someone has squeezed into the tiny space between me and the hedge when I get back so I can barely get a door open. Both times the carpark has been empty and has space for about 30 cars.

There's no way to pay for more than one bay, but unfortunately there is no action taken against people who don't park properly either.  They could make a fortune if they did levy a charge for all those who parked outside the markings.

@B3 , l was never very sure about Lenny ! It may have been the clown type face, or the Liberace style accent. I knew he was supposed to be a lion, but my younger self could never understand how a lion had an American twang.....

For me it was that sort of sideways glance with the 'come hither' smile... soooo creepy...

It’s taken me nearly a week to dig out all the fresh bindweed from just one raised veg bed. Only 5 to go  :# If I had my time again I would have blasted the ground with weedkiller first, organic gardening be damned!

We have tried both @Nollie but the bindweed roots seem to go down to China and below a certain depth are brown and well camouflaged by the soil.   We've taken to hoeing or hoiking it out of beds and leaving it to dry completely on the side before it gets composted or burned.   The stuff in the grass we just leave cos it has pretty pink flowers here.
