  • Is it just me all this talk of Chinese new year & not a single mention of Burns night in the news.

Rather more Chinese/Koreans/Vietnamese celebrating New Year than Scots doing Burns Night?   Better food too TBH.  Not a fan of haggis or whisky.

Why don't they train retail staff anymore?
I bought a jumper yesterday and noticed that it said not to use biological detergents. I asked what would happen if I did. The assistant asked the manager who didn't have a clue either. She then suggested that it might damage the fabric -well, doh! I sort of worked that out for myself. Would it melt, disappear in a puff of smoke, explode?
Mr Google was quite helpful but seeing as the jumper was neither woollen or silk, the warning seems unnecessary anyway.

If the jumper is a dark or bright colour, bio will take the colour out.  In other words, the label should have said ‘  not colourfast’ as they used too.

Oh well it can join the rest of my shabby chic then😉
Apparently, another issue is the enzymes gobbling up the proteins in some natural fabrics. I must say, I haven't noticed this.

Not disagreeing but my son, who lives in Korea and has a Korean family gets absolutely livid if I accidentally refer to Chinese New Year. I have to remember to call it lunar new year!

I'm Scottish and I've never once been to a Burns' Supper or celebrated it in any way.

We have only slight Scottish connections (OH more than me) but we love haggis, so we take any chance we can to eat it ... last night of was MacSween’s finest  free range haggis, freshly shot ... and Clapshot... 😋
