  • Anyone heard of St. Fiacre, patron saint of gardeners? Also of victims of hemorrhoids and fistulas, taxi drivers, box makers, florists, hosiers, pewterers, tilemakers, and those suffering from infertility.

Yes.   Friends of mine in Belgium were given a little statue of him and have made him a little shrine.  They also have a Buddha and a Hindu god or two which are decorated almost daily daily with fresh flowers from the garden.

I went into the potting shed this morning to find mice had been nibbling the chitting potatoes (or chatting, as autocorrect wants to say). I have moved them into the greenhouse which is a no go zone for mice, unless they sneak in while the door is open.

I saw on the news this morning that while some Brits abroad have returned now because of B****t, in parts of France there has been an upsurge of people going the other way.  Fair enough but I was really incensed when they showed a couple who are running a kennels in the Dordogne because "they wanted a lifestyle lost in Britain"   BUT then they admitted they voted for UK to LEAVE, what a nerve they stitch us up & then swan off for a better life IN the EU.  :s

I wasn't too happy with them either @Allotment Boy.   If they really wanted a French lifestyle why move to an area that's almost 20% Brits?

Waiter, waiter, there's an elephant teething toy on my lunch :|  Actually an impressive throw in terms of both distance and accuracy for a baby though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • @Obelixx yes that's just another part of it, but it's really this attitude that "we got what we want you can go to hell in a handcart".
