If we're moaning about Br**it in this thread now can I also have a moan about how I keep finding hidden c*t crap in my veg beds? Now I have to waste what little time I have in the garden coming up with something to keep them off that won't risk trapping the birds.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
you said '... It's no different to if you vote for one party and another gets in.
Complaining about not liking the result isn't going to change
anything. As a matter of interest, what previous 'people's vote' are
you referring to? The only other referendum I recall was to join the
Common Market / European Community. There was no referendum on the
massive changes brought about by the Maastricht agreement if that's the
stuff you refer to....'
I'm not complaining about not liking the result at all. The country voted to leave and we're leaving - I'm fine with that - that was democracy. BUT, my opinion on Europe and Britain's position in the world hasn't changed. And I also then don't like the dross the 'exit' people still want me to accept as being their version of 'true' (as it appears nowadays that 'truth' comes in so many varieties)..
And what is actually true - ie Farage being eligible for an x% salary pension from an organisation that he spent his political life trying to disassociate Britain from - rankles.
And Michael Gove using implication to insinuate that the EU was in someway responsible for the demise of mining and manufacturing in the north and the north being ignored by the political machine, was just blatantly wrong.
In this new 'just accept it and get on with it' has it become like the Ministry of Truth where you can't then challenge what is potentially wrong?
As for the previous referendum - that's the one. Not sure what point you're trying to make.
I agree, the decision has been made and carried out. None of us know what the future holds, so let's just wait and see how it pans out. By all means keep discussing it, but as @B3 says the "Giggle" thread seems to be the go to place for the subject, or maybe even start a new one. @Pat E, l am keeping my fingers crossed that you get that much needed rain, l can't imagine how stressful it must be. On my curmudgeonly note, we have run out of bread, so no toast. Having to go to the shop before breakfast is not making me very happy 🙄
