Judging by the first enquiry the firemen and women on the front line did their best but were badly hampered by having inadequate equipment, inadequate training and poor instruction from management. Their boss has now retired early on a huge pension. I expect that in the years to come many of those front line fire people will be laid off with stress, PTSD and the consequences of breathing dodgy substances while fighting fires with unknown chemical mixes in their smoke and no decent breathing apparatus.

The problem with these big world issues being discussed in this thread is it makes me look like a whinger for complaining that for the 3rd night in a row the baby has woken up while we're cooking dinner meaning my wife has to leave me to finish cooking and then my oldest boy has woken up exactly one minute before dinner is ready meaning we both get to enjoy a cold meal eventually. Youngest is just hungry and having a growth spurt I think but oldest has conjunctivitis and it feeling very poorly. Sure did look like a nice dinner too...
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It's taken 8 months to sort out the details of organising return trains from Amsterdam to London. Fills you with hope for a post Brexit trade deal eh?
So it was the fire brigade's fault then
