A real humbug moment here - just checked the turkey.  The oven didn't feel right - just didn't feel hot enough.  Put my oven thermometer in - well, I was right!  It shows 150 C whereas it's set for 180 C.  Christmas lunch will be a little later this year!  (And the service engineer will be called out to put matters right - three cheers, at least, for insurance of the product!
Happy Christmas one and all.  At least the odd glass of sherry or three will take the edge off my curmudgeonliness!

    Whilst I'm on a roll....

    Royal watchers at Sandringham....

To quote the BBC .. "Some had queued from the early hours of the morning in the hope of seeing the Royal Family."

Now I'm all for harmless activities & if following the royals is your thing, all well & good ...but I just ask myself...why stand in a queue for over 7 hours in the cold on Xmas Eve for a glimpse of a midlle-aged balding bloke, his skinny missus and their two kids???

    Takes all sorts.

and don't forget the excitement of Mum posts a photo of Dad kissing his child.
    Who'd have thought eh?

Take it from us ... there’s not a lot else to do in that bit of Norfolk ... that’s what passes for exciting out this way  🥱

Excessive packaging, Amazon style:  Opened the outer protective cardboard sleeve to find a pretty, drawstring fabric bag.  Opened that to find a package in tissue paper.  Inside that, a tightly-sealed plastic film.  Then another pretty, drawstring fabric bag.  Inside that, the present.

I ordered a Tv recorder box, it came from amazon straight off the shelf no outer wrapping, address label stuck on the box.

Another year and another reduction in the size of a tub of Celebrations. I keep all the old tubs for storing bird food etc and in the ones from circa 10 years ago you'd get 975g in a tub. Now it's down to 650g. I'm sure they'll tell you it's due to customer demand.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    Traffic lights?  Wot traffic lights?
If there were traffic lights up there in that bit of Norfolk the DoE wouldn’t have pulled straight out of a side road into the path of another car 🙄
