  • Not really raining here today, but not dry either 🙄

We had a lovely time with Wonky and the rest of the family, but OH has been asleep since we got home, has a rotten headache and looks as white as a sheet so I’ve given him paracetamol and put him in the spare room. Hope he feels better in the morning.  He’s rarely ill but when he is poorly he looks awful ☹️

    Sweet dreams all 😴

Sorry to hear that he isn’t well, Hosta. I hope your care helps him.
We are expecting 41 today. 🤬 so I’m stuck inside yet again.

Sorry, Dove. That just shows how I feel - all muddled up. 🙃

I'm sorry it's still so smokey your way @Pat E.  Must be very unpleasant for you and all the critters too.

Sorry about your OH too @Dovefromabove and hope it passes soon.

I have survived a shopping afternoon with Possum - pre-sale sales are on so too many people, shops too hot, not a lot to tempt us let alone provide what we were looking for.   Humph!  However, the shop staff were unfailing friendly and cheerful.  Admirable.

Got home to find OH has lit a fire!!  It was 15C out there today for heaven's sake.

He sounds like my Hubby, Obelixx. Any excuse to light the fire is taken. I’d rather the air con because I can adjust it quickly.

    Morning all.
@Dovefromabove I hope your OH feels better this morning. Bit worrying that you haven't appeared yet, I hope he's OK.

I'll be making two trifles today, raspberry and chocolate. Then preparing the veg for tomorrow and wrapping the last of the presents for GCs. All the family for lunch, 2 families staying Sunday night and 2 families going home.

We have a fire every evening in winter.

Good morning all  :)  Thanks for your kind wishes folks ... he’s done what he usually does and is very much better this morning. Last night he looked like a corpse ... almost a skeleton ... grey and sunken faced ... I got up several times in the night to check on him ... this morning he woke me by bringing me a cuppa in bed ... he is no longer pale and ashen and looks a couple of stones heavier. He no longer has a temperature and feels ‘almost fine’ ... he is only not going to work today because my foot has been put down firmly. He is on the sofa with a book and has been threatened with superglue.  We recorded Guys & Dolls the other day so I'll join him on the sofa to watch it when I've made the bread.

And guess what folks ... we have a snowdrop almost open and the pair of Gt Tits that were busy gathering moss the other day are busy making the hole into the bluetit box on the ash tree a bit bigger ... looks like spring out there .............

    Afternoon all.
Hope everyone ok this ‘crimbo-limbo’ weekend. I’m doing a festive lunch tomorrow so just having a tidy round and laying the table etc. Might nip outside to cut a few fresh sprigs of evergreens for vase plus a bit of fresh air.

Glad Dove's OH is feeling better.

Bother, the custard for the trifle won't set. I used more custard powder than the recipe said and 3 egg yolks.
Bother, the salmon paté has gone runny. Leclerc had run out of Philadelphia and their own cream cheese so I used Saint Moret. The more I beat it the runnier it gets.
