A very jolly Boxing Day to all.   I hope there are no sore heads or sore tums amongst  Forkers old and new.

It's bright and sunny here which is a lot better than was forecast.   I hope it's good where you are.

Good Morning - Happy Boxing Day all.
I hope everyone is doing ok.
Work was actually ok yesterday - we had snacks, secret Santa, silly photos and more snacks. Back to do it all again this afternoon!

Happy Boxing Day to all. @AuntyRach, you and your colleagues deserve a big thankyou for working over Xmas, I'm sure your patients appreciated it.
My sister and her partner were also working yesterday. I was very proud of her when she told me that she had plated up a big Xmas dinner and done a Xmas stocking for a young lad who has just started working with them and is living literally alone in his van, with a only a microwave to heat takeaways. He nearly broke down and cried when she gave him his dinner. She has a big heart, my sister and knows what it's like to be broke and lonely.

  • There are some good hearts out there .... I’m very proud of my son who spent time yesterday helping with a local charity that provides safe shelter for homeless single folk,  ensuring they got a good meal yesterday and have enough food and fuel to keep them safe and warm.

    Well done @Lizzie27 's sister and @Dovefromabove 's son.

Evening all. We are back and we had a good time at daughter's. Started with opening presents, I'd said we didn't want anything and presents should be for the grandchildren but we got a big box of Lindt chocolates, a big box of macaroons, wine and handcream for me. The 3 boys were delighted with their presents, mine were Lego, they also had a football goalpost with net for the garden and a Meccano car that ran on batteries, among other things. Then we had lunch, I made cold salmon with chaudfroid sauce, then Son in law cooked 2 ribs of beef on the open fire and daughter did the veg. The beef was really tasty. Then we all, except OH, (arthritic hip) went for a walk. We had dessert when we got back, 4 mini puds with coffee, chocolate mousse, raspberry panacotta, lemon meringue tarts, pavlova, all homemade, yummy.
