Late start for me cos OH was up early to go to physio and I didn't get my usual juice and coffee so slept thru till 10am.Ā  Ā Knee feeling better for it but I managed to burn my right index finger and knuckle the other day - stopping a casserole from sliding off the cooker - and the burn is very deep and taking ages to heal.Ā  The knuckle damage is just where OH put his hand round mine for daning so well be missing this evening's session.Ā  Ā Bums.

The exhibition opening was good last night.Ā  It's a council funded community centre which provides facilities and support for locals to get together to enjoy collective interests so there's art, mosaic, silk painting, embroidery, patchwork, card making and paper crafts, cookery, flower arranging, photography, youf groups.Ā  Some really interesting stuff on show and next year's theme for the art and mosaic groups has been announced - La Fontaine's fables which is basically a 17th century blank verse version of Aesop.Ā  Ā

Have fun with your nettles @Chicky.Ā  Ā We too have some patches we leave for the wldlife but definitely not in beds.Ā  We too had more rain last night - good - but it's set to stay dray and get very cold thru to Monday but then showers and back up to a decent 8C on Tuesday when I hope to be out there planting trees including a Liriodendron, a Robinia of the healthy, non golden variety, a Gingko and so on.

@Dovefromabove you've reminded me to put buttermilk on my shopping list.Ā  Thanks.

I hope everyone who needs to be dry has had no more rain and has stayed safe.Ā  Ā

    Afternoon.Ā
Got a post shopping headache. Note to self: NO shopping on Saturdays between now and January. When I see people’s thoughtless trolley etiquette, I always wonder how they managed to drive there in the first place. (Wrong thread?)Ā
    Hope you are all well.Ā

I’m in now too. Ā Half the nettles attacked, the other half will wait til another day. Ā Went for a walk to make the most of the morning sunshine ..... up Black Down, which is the nearest thing we get to a summit round here. Ā Great autumnal views šŸ¤“

  • Lovely @Hostafan1 😊
AuntyRach ... I try to keep away from shops at weekends ... and during school holidays too if I possibly can 😨
    Lovely view @chicky šŸĀ

What a lovely photo Chicky it’s getting quite bare here, very cold and most of the trees have dropped.
I dug out my begonia corms, very good considering they were just one inch high mini plugs in the spring. All in the porch for drying now.Ā
Good news OH’s truck past MOT probably be the last time, he wants to retire next September when he’s 60. Ā

In France an MOT is now valid for 2 years @Lyn - which might explain all the one eyed wrecks I see around.Ā  Every car is supposed to carry a full set of spare light bulbs so I find this baffling.

Gorgeous photo @Chicky.Ā  We have a birch tree in our mixed hedge which is a stunning amber glow at the mo, even on a dull day.Ā  Love autumn foliage.

Definitely now shopping at weekends and, if possible not Wednesday pm (school half day) or Friday pm - shorter working week here means lots of people like painters, decorators, plumbers etc finish at midday and hit the SM for the weekend shop.Ā  Makes them busy.

Hello all. Had a busy day today. Cleaned sitting room and dining room and prepared food for tomorrow's lunch. Friends coming after church.

Then friends picked us up at 4pm to take us to Bury St. Edmunds to go to a choral concert, Brahms Requiem. OH was looking forward to it as he sang it in his choir in France in the spring. First we had dinner in Carluccios which was good, I'd never been there before.

Morning everyone. I don’t know what I do, but I was logged out yet again, so had to go through the whole rigmarole again.Ā

Our weather is tipsy turvy again, but I just plan each day as it arrives. Cool this morning but they are predicting 37 degrees on Thursday and Friday.🤬

Obelixx, I cant resist telling you what my old horticulture teacher told us years ago - to get it right, you say to yourself - first you ā€œginkā€ and then you ā€œgoā€. If you say it to yourself over and over, you can get quite a rhythm up. (Not forgetting your knee though)
    Ā Not Ging ko.

I got a fright a couple of days ago. I opened the back door to go out to turn on soaker hoses when I spotted a brown snake sun baking on my little bridge that Hubby made for me to get over the contour bank. I yelled out to Hubby ā€˜snake’! But by the time he’d got the rifle, it had slithered under the Grevillea and out of sight. I keep looking, but we haven’t seen it since. I’m a bit worried for my little Cunningham Skinks that live under that Grevillea. I hope they aren’t providing a diet for it.Ā

I love your photo Chicky. I’ve got a soft spot for autumn foliage.
Ā I don’t expect we’ll see Michael’s Australian adventure for some time. We seem to be a couple of years behind your viewing.Ā
I hope Chicklet is enjoying our spring/summer weather except for the smoke from the fires. There have been over 400 homes lost so far.😔 so sad for then.
