Police have just been round giving advance warning that they may be advising evacuation, if water level rises further.

Oh @punkdoc. Make sure you're prepped then - enough for a couple of days etc. Have you let Moira know the situation? Don't want her worrying.  :/

It has been intermittently wet and windy so lots of trees and branches down and bent, broken or toppled posts for local leccy and phone lines between eher and patch class in La Roche.    Just home from daning in another downpor so decided to check the wetaher and rain radar and our local Met service actually has a feauture video about flooding in Sheffield and how a Mini is not amphibious.   Scary stuff but then what sort of eejit tries to drive a Mini through that?

I do hope you are safe and dry @punkdoc and have all you need.   Same for anyone else having too much water or wind or having to travel too.

The lady who used to live next door to us. It wasn't a mini, but it was a small hatchback. She tried to drive through about 4 feet deep water (fortunately it wasn't fast flowing water) and, naturally, the car died in the middle of it. Her partner who she called to get her out - was, er, less than impressed. The words "not an effing canoe" were in there somewhere.

    We can laugh now.

Thinking of you punkdoc - and everyone else in that area. Looks awful on the news. Stay safe.

How awful!  It’s so still here and clear bright moonlight, OH has just been out for a walk.
we did have hailstones like pebbles this afternoon though.
