    Here's hoping.
We are luckier than many because we are situated miles from the city centre, half way up the moors, so things tend not to be so bad.

  • We’ll keep our fingers very crossed @punkdoc 🤞
Do you think Moira will make it home tonight?

Not sure. A lot of the roads locally are still very bad, so I am going to go out in a while and see if they are suitable.
The motorway south from York is ok. as far as Chesterfield. [ she needs to avoid centre of Sheffield ]

  • Would it be better for her to stay somewhere overnight and come home in the daylight?
It’s so difficult to judge the depth of water on the roads in the dark.

I went to visit the judge a little while ago, he is elderly and a bit infirm. He lives about 500 metres away and his kitchen flooded overnight. He was in his lounge with a cigar and a bottle of wine. I asked if he wanted to come to mine for dinner, but he didn't fancy wading to get there. His daughter is coming over to stay, if she can get there. His wife is currently in France.

  • Sounds as if he’s made himself comfortable for the duration. 😉

Hello all. Just typed a post, tapped the wrong key and it all disappeared. Bother.

Must be so worrying for punkdoc, I hope the rain stops.

OH is still very sore and achey but much better than he was. His right shoulder is painful and he has a graze on his knee but he insists nothing is broken and he won't see the Doc. He's not driving so I drove today.

We went to the station to buy my new senior railcard and my day ticket for going to London on Monday. I'm going to see an old school friend. Then we went to Waitrose, wonder if it's the same one Dove goes to. Then to a second hand furniture place to get two kitchen chairs for the breakfast room.

  • Good to hear from you @Busy-Lizzie ... I was wondering how you both are. Glad OH is feeling a bit improved. The W’rose I go to is just off the main road into the city ... I was there between 11 and 12 today.

Thank you @Dovefromabove. It was the Wymondham Waitrose. We don't usually go there, it's further than other SMs.
