    Not trite like Smokey tho.Ā  I like Shadow.Ā  Ā I always think a cat or dog has to have an s or z in their name after reading somewhere that it helps with call recognition.Ā  Ā In Latin his colour would be Griseo or Cenereus but that's a mouthful for a kitty.Ā  Storm or MistyĀ  as he was first spotted in bad weather.Ā  Dixie if you like jazz.Ā  Casper for his ghostly grey.Ā  Ā  Sushi if you like Japanese...

    I'd go for Flint for the cat. Nice butch nameĀ  B)

    Hope all was OK at the hospital Hosta.Ā

    BT may possibly have finally found the right bit of wire to fix. It's OK at the moment, anyway. I'll reserve judgement until it rains again tho - bound to be soon, it's been, oh, maybe 4 hours since it last rained. Must be due some more any minute.

    I'm trying to get bits of gardening done but it's almost impossible with the amount of rain + clay. Managed to get foxgloves in and some narcissus over the weekend. Still have tulips and wallflowers to go in. Haven't even been able to get the bean poles down yet and the garlic is still on the side in the utility room.

    In the meantime I'm attempting to teach myself how to do upholstery. We've got an old sofa which is basically sound but the cover is in shreds (it is about 25 years old, so we had our money's worth). Can't afford to pay someone to do it so it's going to have to be me. I'm working up to it though - don't want to jump straight in with that much fabric. So I've made a new cover for a footstool and a couple of seat cushions. I'm aiming to recover a chair next - then a more complicated chair and after that I may be up to tackling the sofa. Should keep me quiet for the winterĀ  :)

    SM shop done this morning (with a sneaky stop at the GC on the way - ssshhh don't tell). Hoping for a dry afternoon.....

    isn't " cootie" what American's call human fleas? I seem to remember the term from To Kill a Mockingbird.

    I thought cooties was much worse than that @Hostafan.... ;)
    Don't think it would be terribly appropriate!
    How about 'thing'.

    There's some watery sun here. I've optimistically hung out washing. At least it'll smell nice when it comes back in dampĀ  :)
    I love a good black comedy @Obelixx. Suspending disbelief and having a good laugh out loud is one of life's great pleasuresĀ  :)
    Glad you got your hay, and hopefully the flight will be fine too @Busy-Lizzie. Do you get haylage over there? Hardly anyone uses hay here now.Ā

  • šŸ’”. What about Storm or Stormy?

    I’m back with a radical sharp haircut, some new jeans, an oxtail, lamb shanks, minced beef, a pig’s trotter and gammon steaks; slices of salt beef and some floury baps, two baking potatoes, blue buttons and thread and some new knitting needles.Ā

    @Hostafan1 ((hugs))

    Is there anything left at the butcher's @Dovefromabove.Ā  Have been thinking about getting my annual haircut.Ā  6" trim which feels radical when it's first done.

  • It’s a large butcher’s stall on the market ... it’s always worth stocking up the freezer.Ā šŸ˜‰Ā
