Hello - I'm back. Well and truly stuffed with food and knowledge so I may have to just light the fire and have a little doze... I'm going to be truly disorientated for the next few days - always am when he clocks go back.

For those who asked - my course was military history. More specifically it was about D-Day and the weeks immediately afterwards - the personalities involved, the tactics, the arguments, the vast preparations and the logistics of supply, what went right, what went wrong, lessons learned (and not learned) from previous campaigns etc etc.

All very interesting and I learned a lot. One lady was the widow of a veteran and a few people had fathers who'd taken part so we got to hear some personal stories too.

I love going to Madingley Hall - it's a real break in very pleasant surrounding (Tudor Hall and estate with beautiful gardens). The food's good and the company is with like-minded folk and generally very pleasant. Tutors of the highest calibre. They even have a gin menu🤭

    Need to go again soon...

Years ago when my dad left he would visit every Sunday to take us out,he always arrived at 11am. Our cat who normally never went into front garden would go out and sit on front wall at 10.55 on Sunday without fail, she obviously missed him and obviously she could tell the time!

Debs, in 2005 at my niece's hen party we stayed at a lovely place in Derbyshire. It was a farm and talk about knowing when it was tea time!

T'Bird I would have loved that course. Operations Overlord and Neptune have always fascinated me. Probably because of Dad being in the RAF.

The farmer told us that they weren't pets. They would be like M-U's outdoorsers. They were the pest control officers! Arrived promptly morning and evening to get fed and they lived in the barns and stables.

Tee hee M-U. I've got that one of the cat through the cat flap. You can get a head or a backside. I've got the latter.

The head side unfortunately is a different colour which means you couldn't get away with 'matching' the two halves.
