Good morning all. Off to work in a bit dry here this morning but cold again. It seems winter is here. Kettle not working so hot water boiled in a pan. No time to check fuse but think I may need a new one how long do kettles last? Had that one about 5 years is that about average in a hard water area?

Morning Debs. You weren't there when I posted. I think you may need a new kettle Debs though it is worthwhile changing the fuse in case. Is it very furred up?

Absolutely ridiculous that England are being fined for entering the All Blacks half at the Haka. Even the New Zealand coach thought the V-shaped challenge was great.

Morning Debs . I hope that your kettle, only requires a fuse . Our track record with kettles is poor. We have had three in five years . Fortunately two were still under guarantee.
Morning LB , is it too cold for gardening today ? Good morning all to come .

Morning Ruby. If you are wrapped up warm I think it will be a good day to be out in the garden.

Morning. Lovely sunny day here but it looks cold.

Heavy dew but, if it dries out a bit, I’ll probably cut the grass today. Got the hedges done yesterday and made 8 portions each of chilli and bol for the freezer. Makes life easier on days when we’re short on time or eating at different times. Cauli cheese today - yum!

Debs - I live in a (very!) hard water area. Used to kill kettles every couple of years. Now have a water softener and only use softened water in the kettle. Usually survive about 8 to 10 years but they still tend to start leaking or misbehaving after about 5. Usually caused by a much slower build up of limescale.

If the kettle is clicking off before it’s boiled that’s almost certainly a scaling issue. If it’s not switching on at all it’s probably kaput. I’d try the fuse first, then descale it, then check the warranty period.

If anyone watched BAKE OFF last night would they please NOT discuss the result this morning. Intend to watch the semi final and the final this afternoon. Thank you muchly.🙂

Morning T'Bird and Joyce. Cauli cheese is one of my very favourite dishes T'Bird. Happy SM shopping Joyce.

Joyce keep wrapped up on your sm run.  Topbird chilli will be very warming in the cold weather and cauliflower cheese is a lovely dish.  I've tried cauliflower in a stir fry and it was delicious.  Having a cup of tea and some paracetamols.  I'll do the ironing a bit later perhaps after Emmerdale.
