Wow that match could not have been closer Wales 20 France 19. The next one will be interesting - Japan v South Africa. If the weather here stays as it is at the moment, I will be able to get into my garden later on.

Runners, are you up yet? Time to dust off the vuvuzelas.

    Morning all.
Lovely sunny day so will get some bulbs planted.

T'bird, do you hoe or hand weed your drive?  Not a job I fancy doing.

PF, hope things are starting to settle with Elsa and LC.

M-U,  no glue sniffing!  Good to see you have the lighting done in the house.

Joyce - a combination of hoeing & handweeding.

The long handled hoe is ok & quite easy. But when there are so many tiny weedlings (dry summer followed by heavy rain) I have to get down on hands and knees and hand hoe and pick them up otherwise they'd just reroot.
Not too many deep rooted weeds thank goodness.

Which bulbs are you putting in?

LB and Runners enjoy the rugby, I might watch it too.   TB hope you discover a good handbag.  I'll have to swap mine for the winter to accommodate my grippers, just in case.  Having a cup of tea Chive and looking out of the window while sitting on the sofa.  Joyce black and navy are very useful colours.  Ante have a good day.

T'bird, various species tulips, iris reticulata and anemone blanda. Some in pots and some in the ground.
Best to get the tiny weedlings up now.

    Sounds lovely Joyce🙂

Rebecca - hope you don't mind me asking but what are your 'grippers'? I refer to things you put over shoes to add extra grip on ice and snow as grippers.

LB - Some Viola "Tricolour" seeds, and some "Night scented stock" - a purply looking thingy!

Both of those are lovely plants Chey. Put your seed packets somewhere safe until next season.
I have just taken down all my tomato plants in the greenhouse and any almost ripe tomatoes I have left on the staging - no room in the kitchen! I took all the plant bits down to my compost bin and the leaves from my Katsura tree - which all dropped in the week after I got back from France - have filled the air with the most delicious scent of candy floss. I shall have to get them all raked up and put in the leaf mould bin but for now I'll indulge my sense of smell. The greenhouse looks very empty now - quite sad really as it marks the end os another season. Room for my pots of dahlias and chocolate cosmos though when the first frosts arrive.
