I thought OH would have a nasty black eye by now as she bruises easily but nothing yet. Looks like the vitreous humor got jolted around and there is a patch of blood in there but the retinal scan showed no further damage thankfully. She has a cut in her eyelid from the broken lens but no stitches required.Â
Today's challenge was me washing her hair while keeping her eye dry. I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up (still don't and I am retired!) but I can safely take hairdresser off the list.
Evening all. Two Birthdays in my family today so a trip to a local garden centre to purchase the pressies. I resisted buying anything for myself (how?) but I might have to treat myself to one of these that I bought for my Dad:Â
That is very pretty @AuntyRach. I had a thing about pink being too girly for words for years but I've got over it and now I love it - but not the orangey, salmony pinks.
We've had a busy couple of days at Obxx mansions.  My patchwork committee meeting went very well and lots ofladies turned up to lend us "ouvrages" for this weekend's stand at the fair - all the local activities with people to talk to and info to gather so people can puruse interests or try a new hobby. Meanwhile, OH and Poss took Bonzo to the orthopedic vet in La Rochelle for his op.  What a beutiful boy and young for his age...... Â
We've been to pick him up this evening. No jumping (he's a jack-in-the-box), no walkies for 15 days and then 5 to 10 minutes at a time on the lead building each day. Physio needed too.  Meds twice a day for ages.  He's happy to be home tho and is looking good.  Just as well after 1715⏠and all those kms! Rasta was so very pleased to see him again she went and fetched his pig.
@Steephill - so very pleased your BH's eyes are going to be OK. Close call.
Good morning all đ âïžÂ An early start this morning as the car is getting its fan fixed today, and our friend is arriving on the train for a couple of days. Hopefully the car will be finished so we can pick him up from the station ... if not heâll get a bus or cab.Â

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yesterday was his op so we took ourselves off to the Ile de Ré for the first time for a day out with Rasta doggy to keep us all busy.  It was lovely - perfect blue skies, gentle breeze, mid to high 20sC. We found serious coffee in a lovely market, clean beaches, a lovely port with cafés, restaurants and shops, a huge lighthouse, a boaters' playground, lovely atmosphere and more bicycles than we've seen since our last trip to The Netherlands.
Schools went back on Monday so Ile de Ré is now full ofholidaymakers with pre-school kids or retirees needing a break after helping mind their grand kids all summer.  Someone really needs to do something about cycling short design and the t-shirts. Not a good look on 2 feet without a bike even if you're fit and young.  Horrendous on skinny and/or baggy 60+.

We will be going to La Rochelle in just under 2 weeks, staying 3 nights, taking our friends from the village. We may be looking round the Ile de Ré too. I've never been to either. Friend's OH is elderly and not well, she wanted to take him to the sea for a few days.
Your new bed looks amazing, Hostafan. Looks well established, not new.

Up for coal face duties. Back aching a bit after marathon layering of grass clippings, wood chippings and stable manure.
