  • We were in central London yesterday for London open house weekend (they open lots of buildings not normally open to public or open for free if you can go other times). Rain there curtailed our tour we decided to call it quits around 2pm. When we got to our end of the Northern line - dry as dust. couple of drizzley showers is all we have had.

Throwing it down here.  Have just got back after a day looking after Jonah and
Gabriel.  We always use special syringes to give the children medicine.  I think it's the norm these days.  We managed to get it down him but he wasn't impressed.  I've now got a stinking cold too but have a couple of days to recover before I'm due to look after them again.  Have dosed myself up and I'm cuddled up in tracksuit and slippers.  Hope everyone has a good evening.

Evening. Hope all are ok. Definitely cagoule weather! It’s actually a bit of a clothing choice nightmare at this time of year. Not psychologically ready for the Autumn clothes yet! My nice “they look comfy” red shoes broke yesterday so I will need a substitute before it’s time for boots.
Get your feet up @Yviestevie - you’ve done a good job today, hope the little one is doing better.
I have bought some Rocky Road to have with ‘A Confession’ later.

Look after yourself @Yviestevie. Tucked up warm is the best way. Pity you couldn't have more than a couple of days though.
Think we're getting it overnight and tomorrow @Hostafan1. Today turned out ok after the overcast windy morning.
Hope you had a good day despite the wet stuff @Allotment Boy :)

It was cloudy and spitting when I arrived at Patchwork at 2pm.  All the ladies were dressed in autumnal colours and clothes and commented when I marched in in my bright pink cotton forck with bare arms and legs.  Had to explaint being British and having spent 25 years in Belgium I was still jolly warm, thank you, and not frightened of a few drops of rain.

Jolly good session.  Lots of returnees who left cos of the old committee and some new members, both experienced and beginner plus the 24 left after the old committee departed.   I think we may have to refuse any new applications.  Great to see them all happy and buzzing and not muttering.

We have 9mm of rain forecast for tomorrow morning.  Fingers and toes crossed please.

Take care of yourself @Yviestevie.   You too @AuntyRach or you'll end up worn out.

    Have a cosy evening everyone.

Cagoules and brolly needed this morning between the galleries @Hostafan1 ☔️ but after a late lunch and a ‘rest’ the afternoon was pleasant with gentle sunshine ... we’ve just ambled back alongside the harbour, having made complete piggies of ourselves at a very good tapas bar 😋 😋 😋 where they serve superb Blood Orange Negronis 🍹 😊

    Our feet are up 🛋

Take care of yourselves you poorly ones 🤗

I can sympathize with you @Yviestevie - I've got the dreaded lurgy as well. Had to cut short our stay in the Peak district and come home. Did enjoy Buxton though. Went to Lyme and Quarry Bank Mill - two very good days out and well worth visiting. Quarry Bank was free as well being an Open Access Heritage Day.
Has rained here all afternoon and expecting more tomorrow. Good news is that my laptop came back today (after 2nd repair!). Busy re-installing everything.

Morning all/afties Pat if you're there.
Sorry you needed a brolly yesterday @Dovefromabove. I must try harder... :(
Plenty here overnight, and more for later, but it's not bad just now.
Shame you had to come back early @Lizzie27. Hope you're a bit better today. @Yviestevie as well.
