    back in front of the TV to watch the end of A Star is Born.Ā  Love the film I've just downloaded the soundtrack.Ā  Wish this cold would hurry up and disappear.
    Hope you're a bit better today. The Man Who Got Away is one of life's great joys, and oneĀ  of Judy's best I think. Assuming it was that [ the best] versionĀ  ;)

    Monring all/afties Pat - if you're there. If you look in - there's a poster in Oz looking for help with some invasive fine roots covering their mother's land. Not sure if you can offer a bit of insight?Ā

    @punkdoc :/
    Rain mostly overnight here, but a bit dank and thundery just now. Sore head with itĀ  again.Ā
    I've got a load of crocus coming today. I might need waterproofs as well @chicky
    Glad your dad is okĀ  :)

    Hi all

    Drip...... drip.... drip.... drip, it is like Chinese water torture here.
    Hope your dad is ok. @chicky,Ā Ā Southampton General is where I trained.

    I’m envious Punkdoc. Our river is very low.

    Morning all, It was the latest version of Star is Born.Ā  I loved it.Ā  Already have the soundtracks from the Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand version.Ā  I thought some of the songs in the new version were beautiful.
    Glad to hear the op went well @chicky
    @Pat E it certainly looks like you need some of our rain

    Thanks Yviestevie. It’s beginning to get me down, but I’ve sort of given up on gardening while Hubby is being treated for cancer, so I’ve let the garden go. 🤬

    The songs weren't bad @Yviestevie but the bad delivery hurts my ears.Ā  Have to change the station when she comes on.

    @Pat E That looks as dry as we've been but we have drizzle today so it all looks deceptively damp.Ā  Ā Bone dry underneath.Ā  Ā

    @Chicky - glad your Pa's OK.Ā  Hope he's home soon.

    I am making Cullen Skink for lunch now that I've found a source of undyed smoked haddock.Ā  4.4€ for 100g so not exactly peasant food but we love it.Ā  I shall send OH out to pick some more ripe toms for dinner and processing while I carry on with machine patch homework.Ā  It's a Dresden plate done with strips.Ā  Bit old fashioned for me so I'm doing it in modern Xmas batiks so I only have to look at it 2 weeks a year.Ā  It may grow on me.

    Where are you all? Over 7 hours since a post. But then I wasn't here either.

    OH had a hearing test this morning while I had my hair cut. OH needs hearing aids, I knew that anyway.

    This afternoon we went to Peter Beales Classic Roses to order two of my birthday presents from OH,Ā roses Westerland and Oranges and Lemons. I also bought some snowdrops, summer snowflakes and Camassias. Then we went to our local for a beer.

    @Hostafan the hostas I bought are Wide Brim, Gold Standard, Summer Breeze for one bed and Frances Williams, a big slug resistant oneĀ that I have in France, for the new bed left of the summerhouse.

    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Been busy here @Busy-Lizzie, sewing cos we've had rain all day.Ā  Unscheduled but welcome drizzle turning into light rain so it will be soaking in well I hope.

    Plant purchases sound good.Ā  My OH also needs hearing aids and does have some but won't wear them.Ā  Ā Frustrating.
