Perhaps they never leave the house and have no idea of how bad it is. Not sure how you tackle that, as a service provider  :/

Common sense being the most important asset when dealing with the everyday world, but the one that seems to be the most absent  ;)

Service manager at Mercedes told he was talking to "central transport" about one of our vans.
" You're wasting your money with this van, it's had it"
" but it's only 5 years old, they have to be 6 years old"
    "it's done over 200,000 miles!!!"
    " but it's only 5 years old"
    There's Dogma for you.

Good morning.   Nip in the air this morning.  10C when we surfaced and I noticed yesterday that the frst of the autumn daffs is flowering.   Bang on time then.

Admin morning then committee meeting this pm so no gardening.  OH and Poss will be driving Bonzo to La Rochelle for his op - fingers crossed they don't cancel again.

SMs here don't do deliveries but you can order to collect.   They've invested in new buildings and car parks to offer this service so can't see them adding delvery any time soon.   Being perverse I like exploring supermarkets on hols to see what they have.  Even here there are regional differences between the 3 Leclerc I use most and they're only between 20 and 35kms from home.  Hyper U is different again and so is Carrefour.

No grass cutting here.  It's all gone brown and dry again.   I do like that white achillea and am keeping an eye out for The Pearl to grow here.   Love the colour of that echinacea but prefer the simpler forms.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Just outside the medals @Hostafan1. Must try harder.... ;)
I put the heating on for half an hour when I got up, much as it irks me to do it.  It didn't get very warm yesterday, especially with the wind, although it was lovely. Another single fig. night, and still only 11 degrees now. If it was clear and bright it would be great, but it's murky and wet.  :/
I've only used home delivery once. Can't even remember why. Must have been a freebie delivery or something. Tight Scot that I am  ;)

  • @Fairygirl Well if you must "racially stereotype".... then it was probably to deliver the tanker-load of scotch  ;)
We only get delivery very occasionally when we CBA to shop, mostly I quite like the Friday expedition to our local sainsbo's. We normally bump into a couple of friends so it's quite sociable, and we have a chat with one particular till operator. Gods, I'm starting to sound like an old person!
