Afternoon all, I find those predictions are always wrong, I'll be shocked if we get one that's on the mark.
Glad things are improving @P'doc. I've been potting on White Noble Lupins, Foxgloves Pam's Choice and planting out wallflowers Fireking and Foxgloves Suttons Apricot. Tried to get the dirty jobs done before getting my nails sorted this afternoon. Hubby's been cooking a huge pot of Beef Stew. It's Jonah's and Gabriel's favourite and freezes well so Secondborn can store quite a bit for easy meals. Had my bulbs delivered from Peter Nyssen to will have to check them later. Have a good afternoon everyone.
I found the Pam's Choice ones all crossed with the wild ones a bit too readily @Yviestevie, and they all ended up a lilac colour. I had the feeling they might. Shame - as they're very pretty. Stew sounds good - it's that kind of weather. I've got a chicken for the oven. I've had to chuck my jobs outside - too wet and windy. Got a good bit done though. Some stuff needs splitting, but that will have to wait. I've got P.Nyssen bulbs to go in too, but I'm waiting for the replacement shrubs I've ordered so that I can do the whole thing in one go. I got more Camassias for the shady bit I'm revamping, so I can get them in soon.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Evening all. Just had a stew/casserole too - sausage and root veg. I think stew is on the hob and casserole in oven? Either way it was both as I started veg and sauce base on hob and finished in oven. Feels quite an Autumnal dish. I notice the weather from the weekend onwards looks very good. Expect the papers have said it’s a ‘plume’ again! Re Winter - I think we often have a warning of a predicted ‘coldest Winter on record’ etc. warning about this time of year too. Hope you are all doing ok - stings, feeling fatigued, rain or ironing aside.
@Liriodendron OH found this on FB. All you need for moving your cat is a cardboard box and she'll be happy as Larry! Just substitute "transport" for "catch".
