It's the ones who stay [despite all the warnings] especially when there's serious flooding, and then the emergency services have to go and rescue them. Do they get charged for that? They should.  :/
I feel the same about idiots who climb mountains wearing trainers and t shirts, or drift out to sea on li lo.

    Don't get me started @Hostafan1 :D
In the defence of the ones with lilos, I don't think people are always aware of currents in the sea, which can take you away in the blink of an eye. Different if there are signs clearly visible though.
On a slightly related note, did you see the chap who's just been down to the bottom of every ocean? Victor Vescovo. It was on the news earlier. Brilliant  :)
Nae danger of him getting swept away on a lilo  :D

  • Good morning all!   :)

Thank you for all the ideas to make cat-moving a less fraught experience.  Even @Fairygirl's latest contribution...   ;)  Possibilities will be weighed up and considered.  Including earplugs for the journey, perhaps...

Hi Pat!  Sorry you're feeling dopey with the new drugs - though Fairy could be right, and some of the exhaustion could relate to the strain you've been under recently.  Whatever the cause, hope it improves soon.

Good news re Chicklet, Chicky   :)

Hope the cold is short-lived, Dove.

Not long to go now @Liriodendron. Looking forward to lots of pix.  :)
It's a beautiful autumnal day here. Must go and empty all the rainwater from yesterday into the pond. All good stuff.
I had to rescue some newly sown seeds yesterday as they were drowning. Hopefully they're ok  :D

  • I took a phone call for OH when he was in the shower ... one of his colleagues has a poorly daughter off school ... can he cover?  The thing is I opened the bathroom door and the steam poured out triggering the smoke alarm so no one could hear anyone 😂. He’s going to do 11-4. ... I dashed down to Wrose as OH had been going to cook supper this evening ... there I was at the deli counter when the fire alarm went off ... fortunately it was a test, but my ears feel assaulted from inside and out this morning rofl.
We will be having a chicken curry for supper ... korma-ish but with added welly 🥵

  • Thinking back to my cousins’ experience of wildfires ... thank heavens they could get into the water with the children ... but that was a truly terrifying experience that they’ll never forget.
For those who weren’t here then this is what happened

  • Not a lot to photograph yet, @Fairygirl...  a lot of trees and long grass.  Though I rather like this hole in the native hedge, which could definitely become a "window", if the farmer doesn't mind...

...and, garden aside, there's a lovely lake, ten minutes' walk from the bungalow.   :)

  • Thank you, @Dovefromabove  :)

Just read your relatives' story.  Truly terrifying.  Amazing that they all got out alive...
