We've been told not to keep them in a car seat or baby bouncer for more than 2 hours at a time. I forget why. The baby rarely goes that long without wanting feeding so it's a moot point. No one seems to really know the specifics but as long as they have a break in between it seems ok.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
When his children were little, an Italian friend of mine drove his young boys from the Midlands to Southern Italy in a carry cot (or carrier bag as he called it!) on the back seat of his rickety car. It did the boys no harm, one is now a QC, the other a Cambridge University professor.
The thinking behind reducing the time a baby is in a car seat is two fold - the position is thought to put a strain on the baby’s spine, and it also restricts the air flow to a baby’s lungs particularly if they fall asleep with their head flopped forward. I think a lot of people understandably leave a baby in the car seat when they fall asleep in the car and enter their home so the child can end up spending a lot of time in a car seat in a position which is not conducive to good long term health. Gardening/plants are much easier!
I didn't know whether to be amazed at his coolness or stunned by his stupidity. I was sorry it ended when it did, l'd liked to have seen the whole thing, up to and including the owner's face when they found out what had happened 😮

Unbelievable (in so many ways 😁).
