I haven’t heard about your weather Fairy. Sounds worrying. It seems as though if it’s not USA, we don’t hear about it.😡

Lots of rain through summer isn't that uncommon Pat, but the ground is saturated too, so it's causing a few problems, especially with roads/railways etc. It's usually the  west that gets more rain, but it's the east side and central belt of the country that's been affected more recently.
Makes for lots of greenery though  ;)

@Fairygirl Ryanair doesn't re-schedule in advance. They may offer a later flight, maybe a few days later. They did that when it snowed. Have to wait and see. But my sister is coming to stay the day after we arrive and I have to be back in time to host a charity BBQ on the 7th September.

I hope the flooding doesn't affect you.

Morning (just!) all - hi Pat, fingers crossed for good news...

@Busy-Lizzie - that's tough, but typical of Ryanair, I'm afraid.  Hope you manage to get there and back ok, in time for all you need to do.  We're off to Ireland soon, but going by ferry (to take some bits & pieces so I can get on with the decorating in the new bungalow).  I'm returning by Ryanair but it looks as if it'll be between strikes.

@Fairygirl - thanks for the info about the landslides!  OH is going to the cottage in September but hopefully the weather will have picked up by then.  He'll be going by car, because we need to take up a replacement chair and microwave.

Busy busy here.  Trying to sort out house insurance and electricity, plus dealing with an extra grumpy cat, currently trying to remove her Cone of Shame by walking backwards round the furniture...

@Liriodendron - I think they reckoned it would be about a week before it would be re opened. Road is fine, though I haven't been along it for a couple of weeks. Would have been heading that way today had the hill forecast been a bit better for the Kinlochleven hills. Fingers crossed September is a better month - it's usually good one  :)
That's a pain re the flights  @Busy-Lizzie. Hope you get a resolution.
No flooding right here - we're missing it.We just get the rain.  I'm on a little hill anyway so it's never an issue. The flooding in the east would have affected my BIL if he was still working. He used that train line.

Good afternoon all.  Best wishes to you and hubby @Pat E.   Hope it's good news.

Why is it a cone of shame @Liriodendron?

Good luck to all trying to fly anywhere in August.  Always seem to be troubled by strikes be it pilts, cabin crew, baggage handlers, air traffic controllers...........

Possum and I have been to La Rochelle to drop off her pal at the station.   Possum has bought a book on "natural" products ofr beauty and home cleaning.  Can she grow marigolds in my potager?   What she means is can I sow and plant and nurture some next year..............

@Obelixx - the Cone of Shame appears in a rather touching Disney film called "Up", where it's used as a punishment.  (Our daughter's MA is in animation, and she gave us the DVD one Christmas.)  Anyway, we're pretty sure our Vera thinks she's being punished for something...

That's a brilliant film @Liriodendron. I defy anyone not to blub after the first ten minutes or so.  :'(
Hilarious as well though. The cone of shame....  :D
I had a Disney film moment earlier. The buzzard appeared right over the house, with a gull trying to chase him off. I went in to get the camera, but Mr Gull had chased him too far away. The gull came back over, with a smug look on his beak, and I swear, the noise he made sounded like he was laughing. Made me laugh  :)

I'm knackered. Less  strenuous doing two or three Munros. Quite pleased with all my efforts, apart from the hedge, as the battery went before I could finish. First world problems eh ?  ;)

Hah. No wondering round this garden this evening - the rain's arrived. And how.

That film is quoted here quite often "SQUIRREL!!". You're right though, FG, the first few minutes would make anyone cry.

BT came and fixed the internet yesterday. It's going much slower now. I'm assuming that's how it's supposed to happen. Seems to be a consistent pattern.
