It's data over a wide areas, and doesn't necessarily reflect the rain quantities that fall on your house. But the data might well reflect on your catchment areas, local reservoir water storage, aquifers and rivers.

Last year much of the country had a bone dry May and then deluges through July. Perhaps this does reflect a change towards more extreme weather patterns - more all or nothing.
We have had a very dry February, March and April but there is a little, most welcome rain, now. For the last 3 years we have had severe drought and high temperatures from quite early in Spring. I've got my fingers crossed for a cooler, damper summer so my plants can recover!
