@fidgetbones I planted mine the other day and watered afterwards - less messy! :D

I'm thinking of getting a soaker hose. Not sure I want so much more plastic gear to buy... Still pondering.

Many areas of England had one of their driest ever Aprils (and coldest). Reservoir stocks look good, though, after a wet winter.

It's data over a wide areas, and doesn't necessarily reflect the rain quantities that fall on your house. But the data might well reflect on your catchment areas, local reservoir water storage, aquifers and rivers.

We had almost no rain in April but, according to the weatherman, we've had more in the past 24 hours thn we usually get in the whole of May. And it's still raining

Last year much of the country had a bone dry May and then deluges through July. Perhaps this does reflect a change towards more extreme weather patterns - more all or nothing.

We have had a very dry February,  March and April but there is a little, most welcome rain, now. For the last 3 years we have had severe drought and high temperatures from quite early in Spring. I've got my fingers crossed for a cooler, damper summer so my plants can recover!

Well, April was one of the driest Aprils on record in England and May had nearly double the long term average for rain (in aggregate).

I imagine June will be very dry and very hot overall. Reservoir stocks seem to be doing ok.

    Ping pong.

And water butts empty already after filling up too fast in May.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
