Yes, you already have the levels you’d expect at the end of the summer. Water abstraction from your rivers are likely to get high this year.  Worth keeping an eye. Rivers really suffer from farms and business taking water and degrading river health.

Monstrously high rainfall last May is still carrying us over. Our reservoir is about 95%, even though the last two months both had very low rainfall

Incredible the local variation. We had 25% of our normal rainfall,  while South London barely 40 miles away had 48%!

It’s finally raining here. And it looks like it will do so until tomorrow.

I can’t remember the last time I woke up to proper rain.

Our last house tiny  3 bedroom 1930s cottage we paid £23 pcm water rates, moved here,2 bed bungalow with much bigger footprint, paid £8 pcm with a water meter. Every one I knew, who didn't have meters said don't get one, they cost a fortune! This was 11 years ago. Obviously it's gone up,we have 6 water butts, are very careful with use.

I just had a flyer through the post from Welsh Water. Apparently they're offering every home in Wales a free toilet cistern repair to help reduce water wasted through leaks. I've just paid to have two of mine done sadly. Might be useful to others though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It's a mixed picture across England.

The south east has been dry. Was dry, is still dry.

Soil here very dry. I'm trying to soak stuff before this heatwave hits on Thursday.
