Pool man has been. HeĀ spent 2 hours doing what takes meĀ 3 mornings hoovering the dirt off the bottom of the pool. Then when I do it the water goes green. He bought professional equipment, a huge pump and an efficient brush. Pool is now cloudy blue and stinks of chlorine. He said it will be clear and sparkling tomorrow and I must then attach the pool cleaner. Such a relief that it's done, always stresses me. Ready for the family now. If ever I manage to sell this house I won't be looking for a pool for the next house in France.

I have been gardening again, that's 3 borders done, hands are very sore.

We are going out to dinner tonight, our anniversary. Then OH is off to Norfolk tomorrow, appointments for his bad legĀ and I will stay in France. Family coming next week, on and off until mid August.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Gone very muggy this afternoon. A dip in a fresh pool would be ideal!Ā

Yes, there is a lunar eclipse @raisingirl

@Busy-Lizzie - no gardening here.Ā  The soil is too hard and dry to weed and I can't plant cos we're not allowed to water as we're in a red zone so water only for health and sanitation tho I saw a farmer had his field spryer on yesterday evening so I shall carry on discreetly watering my treasures and crops at dusk.Ā  I see you are still in a white zone -Ā https://www.connexionfrance.com/French-news/water-restrictions-now-in-force-in-55-departments-across-france?fbclid=IwAR36YeLs4VJNiZ6ImIDSULWBKD6HGnFO1jPafpFZQ51tVnHgbKG86Zfr4XIĀ with nor restrictions.Ā  Ā Good to have your pool cleared for use.Ā  Ā Good job we haven't got one then.

We should have clear skies for the lunar eclipse tonight and it'll be at bedtime so we should get a good view.

Thrilled to say allowed to go my holiday. Ā Bloods are good so the packing is done. Assisted travel all organised (I think the others will be shattered while I will have had a good rest.,)
onwards and upwards, I know..,slowly slowlyĀ
thank you everyone for kind thoughts and reassurance about the garden. I have tried but never managed to walk all round it! I am sure they will all forgive mešŸ¤ž

So pleased for Ā you @Lily Pilly ... have a jolly good rest and enjoy it ... I’m sure @punkdoc will agree that it’s Doctor’s Orders šŸ˜†Ā

Where is it you’re off to ... I’ve forgotten šŸ™„Ā

That's good LP. I hope you enjoy your rest. I'm sure it'll do you the world of good. The advantage of not walking around the garden is that you won't see what needs done!
No clear sky here sadly.Ā  Some hazy clouds, so I doubt we'd see anything.Ā  :/
The bracken's a bit full on by this time of year here, Obelixx, and it's head height. Bit of a schlepp when the path's only about a foot wide through it, but at least it was dry!Ā  :D
Always good to be back in your own bed, isn't it?
Battens purchased and attached to shed roof, along with some wires for honeysuckle supports. Need some more small vine eyes for attaching to the battens though.
A young coal tit came for a little bath in my Dad's big pot, which has a water lily in it. Lovely watching him trying to work out what to do. He sat on the edge for a while afterwards. Couldn't get a photo - I'd have disturbed him going into the house for the camera.Ā
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Evening.
    That’s brilliant news Lily! Enjoy!Ā
I have just been emailing a complaint to a SM as my chicken was not fit for consumption. It was in date but had a bloom of white over it - which I associate with bacterial growth 🤢. Very miffed as was going to do warm chicken baguettes for supper. We have had goats cheese and beetroot instead šŸ˜‹
