Hope you feel better soon, Hosta. Is a rest possible today?

Thanks. I think the pile of post/ statements/ filing  stacking up around me might be the total of my efforts today

I delivered to a cottage yesterday and asked how old it was. " Nobody really knows, but it's in the Doomsday Book" I think we'll agree that's " old ".
I think anything pre Civil war is probably 'old' in England. Bit arbitrary but it actually works as a threshold in most developed countries - their own civil wars I mean, not the English one. Except Spain, maybe. They have a lot of Moorish survivors that are probably their 'old' buildings. Roman stuff is 'really old' anywhere, even in Rome.

Wall to wall sunshine here but not baking hot.  Very pleasant.  We have been to Les Sables d'Olonne for the market, lunch, stroll round the old town and then SM raid.   Now to stash the hostas in the party barn along with all the ther stuff sheltering from strong sun and breezes.  It's all looking a lot perkier now fater OG let them get thirsty.

We actually had wet air yesterday but it's set to get seeriously hot from Monday.  38C+

@Busy-Lizzie I think people assume men can't cook well and also need company.   Happened to us in Belgium a lot when friends knew I'd be away.  Not here tho, so far.

@raisingirl I once had a group of friends round to our Belgian house and the Texan asked how old it was.  The oldest bits dated from the mid 1700s. " That's older than my country!"  Not hard in Europe I said.

The rain can stop now if it likes, all butts full, pond almost full. Grass like a swamp. I know, I know, we needed it it’s what I wanted.
I think next week when we get the heatwave back I will be living in a rainforest.

You are so lucky, Lyn, wish we could have some rain.
