I’m sewing up a jumper and my hands were really cold ☹️

    Hello all.

I'm babysitting at daughter 2's. Baby is asleep.

Not raining, managed to plant a few pots before leaving this morning, but there is a lot still to do. Pots of dahlias are sitting outside the GH, need planting, so do Cosmos and Salvia Farinacea. Must plant out the peppers and cucumbers that are still in the cold frames. Weeds are popping up everywhere, thanks to the rain, so are slugs.

Found a large Arion Rufus halfway up the garage door this morning!

They are all over the place here, but I think the little grey ones do more damage.

    I think you’re right ... I leave the big ones alone ... they’re really quite beautiful. 😊

OK, so I asked for rain, think we have had enough thank! Mind you it is sunny and windy now.  I put a post on here lat year, asking about overwinter dahlias, desided to risk leaving them in.  couldnt see any signs of life, have bought in excess of a dozen new ones this year, went to plant 2, to discover that my original ones were actually sprouting all be it, only about an inch, so manybe they will come up as well, and I will have anoter very late show!

Visited Polesden Lacey with the Royal Society of Biology yesterday touring the house, woodland and gardens. It was raining from the outset, getting heavier as the day progressed, so the garden visit was done at a rapid trot as it was very wet by then. Will definitely return for a longer visit when the weather improves.

Just caught our first sighting of this year's roe deer kid. No photos yet but there will be some soon. I knew there was one somewhere in the garden but hadn't spotted it till today. Must get the lawn mower out when the rain goes off.

Can I please ask everyone to go to the Beechgrove Garden thread and sign the petition on the link?  Ta.

Looking forward to roe deer pics.   I hope they had a good coffee shop yesterday.

There was a very good cafe there so had a winter type meal - sausage and mash with veg from their own kitchen garden. Just the thing for a cool wet day.

Supper was a Full English with the addition of chips and beans for OH. Beans are not part of a standard English breakfast in my kitchen but are available in request 😉

Watched the last Springwatch 😢 loved it 💕 and started OHs new jumper. Now I’m tucked up in bed listening too Melvyn Bragg ... in a minute I’ll turn the radio off and read for a while 📖 ... Night night all ... sweet dreams all 🛏 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐏
