Have just been down to say hello to the chooks and found every one of them in the netted off PSG and cavolo nero patch!  They'd got there by tiptoeing along between the wire mesh fence and then netted tunnel over the garlic.  Cheeky girls!   I had to lift them all out one by one as they were trying to butt their way through the cabbage nets.

Apart from that the PSB is lookoing good and, finally, there are teeny shoots showing thru on the broad bean patch, also netted off against chook raids.  I've picked two green chillies for our cod and clementine curry this evening and closed the polytunnel up cos there's a bracing, cold wind blowing now.

Have as merry a Christmas as you can everyone.  Stay safe and maybe we can all celebrate next summer as we enjoy our crops and flowers.

Happy Christmas Day!!😊😊The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. Broad Beans safely sowed in polystyrene boxes in polytunnel and fleeced up. No Xmas Pudding for chooks Obelix .Far too bad!! Neighbours went off for traditional French Xmas Eve. Their ginger kitten wandered round to us and I played Santa last night, giving him a nourishing meal and warm milk. Our cats truly miffed!!
Such a joy to have our own shallots/onions/baby potatoes (Saved the smallest) and mange tous to go with Duckling about to go in oven 5pm. Just right for the 2 of us with scraps for cats and gravy for dog with favourite biscuits. Decided to open presents tonight as hate seeing bare base of tree.
So Merry Christmas to you all!

    Hi Everyone
Here is the last Lunar Calender for 2020! Albeit 2 days. Super big Moon this week and super news to report. Had results of biopsy on Monday in Lille, 100% clear. Lymphoma all gone!! I can therefore recommend being genetically modified!! Such a relief and a wonderful end to a pretty rough year. I would like to thank you all for your support it meant a lot.
So:- 30/31st December. Moon descending in Gemini so Flower Days. Plant Bare Root shrub roses and climbers, remembering to slant climbers towards fence/trellis or wall.
That's it for another year..I wish you a very happy and healthy 2021 and look forward to giving you details of my new Biodynamic Calender and Weather Report for January this w/e.
    Happy Gardening 😊😊

Well done @biofreak and your medical team.  That's a great result for all concerned and must be a huge relief to you.

No gardening today as it's been far too wet and I had the weekly shop to do, a day early to avoid the mad rush.  House cleaning tomorrow so we start the NY all spick and span.

Have a festive NY "réveillon" everyone but stay safe.   Not long to wait for vaccines now and then we can be more free.

Hi Everyone..Happy New Year!!😊😊Treated myself to Membership of MABD French Biodynamic Association for Christmas..Received some super reading material for us all to share. Thought it would be good this year to amalgamate Biodynamic Calender with Lunar Calender so that we can have even more gardening adventures and trials together! Also thought it would be good to look at Three Month Weather Prediction so that we can plan ahead better. Jan/Feb and March will be warmer than usual (From 12th Jan)and unfortunately there will be plenty of rain and not many dry periods. This aside and just to cover this w/e 2/3/4th Jan which are Fruit Days if you have no hard frost. Plant Fruit Trees and bushes. Giving them a good base of compost and bonemeal. The ground is just too wet for me to work on at the moment but still pulling Salad Leaves and I found some Spring Onions under the Brocolli which was exciting. Carrots still harvesting well from last Feb sowing. I definitely recommend sowing shorter varieties in Orange Boxes instead of open ground. This is the second year this has worked well for me. Am going to collect more of my own seed this year and shall put a small area for planting varieties I want specially. Any new gardening plans for your plots??5/6/7th Jan Root Days. In milder regions plant Garlic and Shallots. (I usually pop in the sprouting garlic left over on old strings)my Shallots are in already but not enjoying this rain. Neighbours have asked us to take in ginger/white kitten (Now about 8mths old) as they have now bought a puppy for one of their children. Looks suspiciously like a Pit Bull Terrier (illegal here but lots of half breeds around)..I hate it when people buy pets at Xmas. Our cats still miffed but Coming round slowly.
    Happy Gardening!

The ground is sodden and the surface is frozen and no let up for the next few days so no gardening for us this week.   I'm sewing over the next few days, taking decs down on 12th night and then I need to sort seeds and decide what to sow in what order and when to have good crops and pollinator attracting flowers.  I have a new heat mat to help me get chillies started early but not before the end of this month when there'll be more light.
