No gardening today. Doing Xmas Cards and Decorations. Dog had 3 teeth out yesterday and feels much better. I wanted this done last 6mth check up but vet thought not necessary. No Moon /No Stars just murky horrible wet and cold!!
Very wet and soggy night and morning here and we had to take Bonzo Labrador to an osteo specialist this morning as his back legs sort of seized up last night. Turns out he was a bit freer this morning and it's an arthritic crisis due to the sudden change to cold and humid weather. Anti inflammatory jab with meds to follow and, if that doesn't fix him, plant based meds forever.
I can sympathise having been kept awake most of last night with a throbbing arthritic knee. No running or jumping for either of us for a week or so.
We did have enough clear sky last night for the moon to be bright for a long while but that makes it cold too and now we have a sunny spell and the remaining autumn fliage is burnished and glistening with the sun on the raindrops against a deep purple sky that promises downpours for later.
No gardening for me either apart from cleaning out th ehen house and adding their lovely muck to the compost.

We have had some clear nights , very bright Moon 🌝 at times , have also watched the International Space station go over a few times
Just collected a real Christmas 🎄 tree today , don’t normally bother , as usually staying with relatives . Will have to go into loft and see what lights we have 🎂 O/H made a Christmas reef yesterday via House Party on internet with her younger sister & 2 nieces , she’s having a go at a Table decorations with left over bits at moment
Bought some Moon and Star LED Table Lights on a cable to lay along Table Runner -should look very effective. Good old Lidl!!Love decorating the tree but that's about as artistic as I get. I get bored too easily and admire anyone else who can do these wonderful wreathes etc. No Crackers in France so will have to do with out as cannot get to UK. Tried making them once DISASTER!!! On a brighter note, sun peeping through clouds so may check on polytunnel later when feeding birds. What new Seeds are you ordering for next year?? Seems to be alot of new choices. definately growing Cherokee Potatoes again and Breton Niort Onions from Sets. Ordered some old favourites Kelvedon Wonder Peas and trying Moonlight Runner Beans as have saved my Scarlet Emperor ones. What do you know about Berlotti Beans to eat fresh not dried. Saw them on James Martin Saturday Morning yesteday. I know you don't eat the pods. Are they worth bothering with?
Husband suffering with sciatica today, all the old aches and pains come back in this damp weather, our dog gets arthritic although only since he reached 12yrs --15 this week! Do you find the herbal meds work Obelixx (Healthspan Range?)
I like decorating the tree and, now we have 2 dogs with waggy tails and 2 young cats, I also make felt and cloth tree decs to hang lower down in the breakable levels. I've also made a 2 dimensional "tree" using dried stems from our Provençal canes, some brass ornaments too heavy for the tree and home made felt decs plus Xmas lights. Other than that I have home-made patchwork table runners and a wall hanging and then just pine cones and walnut shells and candles. I have never yet got around to making a wreath.
Rasta doggy wil be 14 in April and Bonzo is about 12 - rescued 8 years ago in May and said to be between 2 and 3 years old but underfed so just 18 kilos and puppy brained. He's filled out nicely now and is a lean 30 kilos but still a puppy in his head. His conventional meds gave worked well and he's a lot looser. They both get a Locox every day but I think we'll try the plant meds anyway and then I can report back.
OH's birthday tomorrow so we're having a big house clean. I wanted to do windows but it's too sunny but that means I can go and play in the potager later and say hello to the chooks who are all more relaxed with us now, except for one who is still not confident we mean her no harm.
I've already got my seeds for next year and also have old stocks in a container in the fridge. Have you seen the thread about ordering seeds from the UK in good time @biofreak? Won't be possible after this month and you have to give the companies time to get them in the post before Xmas.
The only beans I grow are broad cos it's too dry here for summer beans and I don't like runners anyway.

Moonlight beans are one of those new hybrids that have some of the characteristics of French & English ones. They are self fertile, less stringy & more heat tolerant than standard runners. I think they are great.
Photo of your shed has just popped up GWRS!..Very smart😊 I have ordered some Moonlight Runners AB so shall see what we think. So exciting to have projects for next year already. I have even ordered some 2yr old asparagus (Ever hopeful) as have a nice place set up for them next to the herb bed. So here is the Lunar Calender 10th ..17th Dec. 10th/11th Dec. Root Days. Plant Garlic and dig up and store Horseradish and Jerusalem Artichokes (I leave them to to lift as I need at least until mid January) 12th Dec ..No gardening recommended after 3.35pm as Moon perigee 13..14th Dec..Leaf Days. Cut down Mistletoe and seal scars in branches or trunks of trees with protective gel or mastic tape (The type found in garden centres for fruit trees not DIY Tape!) New Moon on 14th. No gardening recommended. Noeud descending. 15/16/17th Dec...Moon ascending in Sagittarius Fruit Days. If there is no frost and you have taken grafts, separate them from mother tree and plant in a sheltered position preferably against a North facing wall. You can also continue popping in prunings from red and blackcurrants to create new bushes in time. In mild regions sow Broad Beans in a sheltered but sunny position. I note that Christmas Day has been mentioned for this and sowing peas. I might do it Xmas morning..Just to say when we're eating them ...These were planted on Christmas Day!! Anyway that's all for now as I am typing this on my tablet in hospital hotel, as have check up and biopsy 8am tomorrow!!! And I was not going to get up at 2am for 5hr taxi ride here!!No worries, it's just to be sure all is going to plan! Home Saturday.
Happy Gardening😊 Obelixx you put me to shame with your creativity well done!! I can do nice floral arrangements though so that's something. Which reminds me I must go on a Holly hunt next week.
