Dear little deer jumped over my wire netting fence and trampled/ate some of my sweetcorn plants ah! well I don't think that the sweetcorn will come to much this year anyway, on a brighter note dug some Desiree potatoes and it looks as if it will be a good harvest.

Good that someone is getting a harvest of spuds ours are a disaster this year so far. Very poor yield and lots of slug damage.  Hoping the maincrop Setanta will save the season. The tops are still green so risking leaving a while longer.

Harvested the spuds today 163lbs from 6kg of seed Desiree bought from Wilko, should see us through until the end of January or maybe February. I commented to the allotment chairman that this year has been my best harvest in 9 years she said that they had blight on the site, touch wood my plot has never suffered I think that is because I'm on the West edge of the site so the wind is predominately from the housing estate so no blight spores blowing in.

@barry island , my main crop will be very disappointing this year , the way it goes
Hoping to go to plot tomorrow
    Happy gardening all
  • I removed most of tomatoes on my plot yesterday as they were showing signs of blight. Three healthy plants of a different variety left...but not holding much hope. Used the space for some beetroots and spring onions that I grew as plugs. Such a shame as I put them in very late and they grew beautifully.

Been to plot today , dug up a row of main crop potatoes 🥔 as I expected hardly any
Picked Blueberries, blackberries, 2 cucumbers , 3 courgettes, toms
Pulled a carrot 🥕 and a beetroot  , very impressed hope they are all like that
Put a membrane over a large bed & 2 smaller beds horse manure , getting ready for winter
