  • Yes so bored of Arthur and his self satisfied little giggle. I quite enjoyed how they bundled together all the eccentrics in one programme but agree they should look a bit harder in their video library for content. They have thousands of hours to pick from. At least it's Adam next week...

I haven't been watching GW for very long but I do recall being struck by his apparent smugness before. Definitely need to delve a bit deeper into the archives.

I found tonight's episode a struggle to get through. I've seen all of the clips before and, apart from the lady with the roses, found them a tad dull.

If the "theme" tonight was "eccentric" then the rose segment didn't fit in (unless I missed something "quirky" in it!).

Surely we could have had some time with Carol or Arit or Rachel or Frances, Advolly, Nick etc etc

Have all episodes this year been an hour long? Perhaps they agreed to that before Covid and then struggled to fill them all. I'm sure they decide on the schedule in the Autumn for the coming year.

Anyway, it's the first episode I've struggled with this year so they've done well all things considered!

  • We really need a beechgrove.com. Maybe if there was a Beechgrove magazine.
Beechgrove has a lot of english accents which makes it UK-centric. Gardener's World is pretty much 100% english.

Sometimes it’s nothing to do with age ... sometimes it’s to do with how much you put into your day 😉

You see @algonia ... some of us have been up and about for a while ... you’ve possibly not been out in the garden yet ... and you’ve probably not started off a batch of sourdough bread that’ll need baking this evening either.  🤣

Coffee is on the go ... shall I pour you one? ☕️

Afraid I fell asleep just after the titles.  Sounds like I didn't miss much but it's recorded anyway so I can FF as needed.

I assumed that it was maybe a couple of weeks behind, as Monty mentioned the heatwave a couple of times, and seemed to finally be dressed in different gardening clothes (lightweight!), that it had been too hot for him to do much gardening, hence the compilations.

I actually didn't mind most of them - was expecting to fast forward through some of the segments, but although I've seen most of them before, I actually enjoyed it. Maybe not so much the gooseberry one, but that's only because I wanted to keep shouting "it's just a gooseberry!!! Pay attention to your wife!!".  :D
